Just so everyone can realize how many were sold:
Counterpoint’s charts says 6% of ALL smartphones sold in Q1 2026 were base iPhone 17’s. The total # of smartphones sold, including the 4G models as well, was 289.7M per IDC and 298.5M per Omdia. Avg it to 294M
Yeah, it’s an inexact science.
Given 294M:
iPhone 17 @ 6% = 17.64M
iPhone 17 Pro Max 5% 14.7M
iPhone 17 Pro 3.5% 10.3M
total Pro = 25.0M total iPhone 17 w/o Air = 42.7+M
iPhone 16 1.7% 5.0M
That’s roughly 47.7M of the 294M total or 16.2% of total smartphones. Given most estimates have Apple at 21% of the total (and 48% of total smartphone revenues), the other 5% of iPhone sold were the new Air, 17e, older 16e and older discounted iPhone 15, 14 models in numbers less than 1% each. (Counterpoint above noted the new S26 Ultra was 11th with less than 750,000 (sold in limited time in sale))

~338M total smartphones were sold in Holiday Q4 2025
iPhone total estimated 82.6-84.3M 25% ASP $1011-1032
17 Pro Max was #1 w/5% of a much larger pie, = 16.9M
add 14.7M for Q1, 6 months total = 31.6M.
iPhone 17 was 2nd 4.5% 15.2M, 6mo = 32.85M
iPhone 17 Pro 3rd 3.7% 12.6M, 6 mo. = 24.34M
iPhone 16 4th 2.0% 6.74M 6 mo = 11.74M
iPhone 16e 8th 1.0% 3.37M 6 mo 4M+
Galaxy S25 (not Ultra) 10th 0.9% 3.0M
Apple quarter total 17 series w/o Air = 44.7M+, probably closer to 47M+.
For Q4 CY2025, Apple took 24.9% of total market share
In 2025 the ENTIRE premium Galaxy S25 models combined reportedly sold 5% more than the S24’s 37M in 2024, namely 38.9M from Feb to Dec. 2025, call it 39.3M from Feb. to Feb. 12 months.
In Q4 2025, the new iPhone 17 series outsold what the Galaxy S25 series did all year. In Q1 2026, the new iPhone 17 series w/o Air outsold the entire annual S25 series, again.

The iphone 11 PM have an watered down edition of IOS 26, meanwhile the Galaxy Note8, 2 years older can have an full android 16 experience. Ant the 11 PM cannot, it has an lower amount of RAM than the note8 (4GB vs 6GB).
