Not sure where you live but here in Poland 256GB A57 is 150€ cheaper than 256GB S25FE

128GB internal storage on phones without microSD card slot is forever always a capitalist joke. But for me, it's an easy S25 FE because of wired DeX support.

that said, the midrangers has preferred having phones that last long, but arent as good as the flagships to last long term, or compete with the competition, such a sad reality we have

        You wrong on several things
The screen on the S25 fe is LTPO, it can scale from 1 to 120hz already that makes it better than the A57, it also has thinner bezels
The back is frosted glass which makes it less prone to fingerprints, already a win for S25 fe
The S25 Fe came out with One Ui 8, it only got 8.5, that still leaves 7 more years of OS updates, 8.5 isn't a major OS update, it means it will get an extra year of updates compared to the A57

Anonymous, 30 May 2026No. Previous Motorola phones provide only 1 year of major OS upgrade. The Motorola Moto G Powe... moreTrue, but the Edge series is better and is improving each year. The Edge 60 Pro gets three years of android version updates and four years of security updates. The Edge 70 gets four years of android version updates and six years of security updates. Given that many people don't keep their phones for four years, I don't think that's too bad. For those that do, a further two years of security updates is fine. How many people are currently using a phone from 2020?

If your phone uses up to 7 GB of RAM, it doesn't matter if it has 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. 8 GB of RAM is enough in most cases.

in pakistan the difference between a57 & s25fe 256/8 gb is only 23k pkr which is appx. 83 usd so IMO s25fe is the obvious choice if you aren't too budget constraint. I wish this article had shed some light on the 4gb ram difference. i really want to know how big of a difference it makes.

It boils down to price. In many markets, Samsung maintain a considerable price gap between the A57 and S25FE, with as much as $150 or more difference. That's quite a chump change where you can use it to buy accessories instead. So in this case, it boils down to features vs handling. If you want the most phone for the buck, the S25FE is definitely a better phone with flagship class SoC, telephoto lens, LTPO display, and Dex. However, if you want a lighter phone and save some money, the A57 is still a decent phone.

The decision gets harder if the price difference are miniscule or nonexistent. Then the S25FE wins hands down. Midrange SoCs still suffer micro stutters, regardless how fancy their cores are. These microstutters are minimal to nonexistent on flagship SoCs.

They've been good at doing bi-monthly updates, but I don't think they optimise much - the changelog each time is limited to "Integrated May security patch".
