That's honestly the smarter move for Windows to try to create a opponent to SteamOS / Steam Big Picture; because they clearly don't compete with PlayStation/Nintendo any more in the pure console market.

I'm hoping for the best tho, we need more competition in the console space to keep prices lower and spur more innovation.

Windows 10 on the other hand, would make sense for xbox mode.
Although it's EOL, it's stable compared to winslop 11, there is still a good number of people who still use windows 10 or have downgraded to windows 10, and Europe has free 1 year extended support.
