3x was a waste of space. Just read camera comparison review of s25+ vs s25edge. Galaxy's 200mp main camera can keep up with that 3x optical one. So, removing that old 3x hw will bring some extra internal space for upgrading the other 3 cameras if samsung wants to upgrade its 4 year old hw. 200mp main with a bigger sensor, 50MP 3-5x continuous zoom, 50MP uw with a bigger sensor would be a nice combination
I don't know Samsung walking on which way. VIVO X300 Ultra has all large sensors, unlike Samsung all tiny sensors. Only primary camera is enough. And doing similar design after iPhone air and 17 Pro Max isn't. only the Pixel 9/10 Pro has a better appearance.
The 3x was mainly there to help with portrait shots, so clearly they (like many others) feel they can get the same effect with just the main camera. Let's be real though, Samsung won't ever do anything with the space it got back from removing it, just like with every other feature they removed.
Abdullah Alasmari, 14 hours agoDesign is interesting, but the specs is the most important.reusing a 7 year old design from the s10 family...
If they bring the camera bump same place as the s10 and make its shape just like the s10, it might actually be interesting
Finally got rid of that useless Piece of Hardware, now just give Bigger sensors to the remaining 3 cameras and Samsung may catch up with the others
Please stick to dark red phone again please, or bring back the green from s22, IT'S A NEED
Was the s26 edge (that got cancelled) not enough companies copied? Now theyβre copying Vivo, who copied Apple, who copied Google?
The modern day phone industry is a joke
ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 14 hours agoGalaxy S10/S10+*s10 was squircle with square cameras, this is rounded like the pixels but ofc samsung never copies, only apple copies samsung and the heckin chinese ones copy apple AND samsung
I really don't think today's camera hardware would fit with a camera bump that small anymore. Nice render though it's a good color!

People always hate on IceUniverse but his Samsung leaks are 95% correct, even his controversial leaks are correct like S26U is using smaller 3x sensor than S25U.

L.O.R.D, 10 hours agoTwo cameras are enoughwell as long as it beautifies the phones design it s fine
to go with more cameras and take the meizu21 pro as
a perfect example and i think it s better than samsung
s triple camera setup and there is nothing to lose man

I was minus 10 years old when I first reading this website before buying Nokia C6-00.
zillion, 9 hours agoSamsung already use this horizontal camera island at S10 series then Google Pixel 6 till today... moreYes I know S10 had this kind of camera arrangement and even before that, A80 had this as well.
It just that after making the current design for all phones with vertical camera island their brand identity, I felt Samsung just getting a fomo whenever Apple is doing something "new". This happened lately with S25 Edge, the wide Fold, and now the horizontal camera arrangement.
Sammy does not care if Google or Huawei or other brands does something new. But when Apple does it, Samsung just straight up panic.
Perhaps that Samsung might be testing a 200MP telephoto camera, even though it sounds unlikely? Or maybe even a variable zoom periscope camera like in Sony's Xperia 1 series? We never know until the official announcement next year.
