As I said, the black notification bar allows notification icons and other info in that region, so space gets utilized without having to see that notch.

According to rumors, Sony is implementing a new naming scheme. The phone will be called Sony Xpertise 5 IV 3 II 1 pro non plus ultra. Best naming scheme ever.

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2026In case you don't know how QC works, nobody tests all units. It is impossible. 1 ... more"nobody tests all units"
And how would that change the validity of the point that I've been making lmfao. It's not about how many units or what % of units they actually test, the fact is that they have let a large number of defective units go through to the point users collectively start noticing that there's a particular pattern in the problems that they are facing. Their test cases weren't comprehensible enough to cover edge cases, which allowed these defective units to reach users' hands.

The number of users of Galaxy Note 7 who had seen their phones exploding was relatively small compared to the total number of its users back then. This doesn't mean that their QC wasn't of poor quality. The same goes for Google's Pixel series which are absolutely notorious for software bugs.

You literally admitted yourself in your previous comment that they "decided to have 3rd party assembling to **reduce costs**". We should be on the same page. Just accept it and move on.

"have more reports of 🔥🔥 than samsung"
It depends on exactly how many reports there are, as well as whether those who were affected were using non-compliant chargers or not? Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco stemmed from its battery design (poor insulation). Are these reports for Redmi and Nord specific to a particular model, or just spontaneous? Why do you think this is relevant when I'm talking about a manufacturing defect that Sony literally admitted was not the problem with the way users handled their devices?

                  It is impossible.

1 year as 3rd party assembling = more issues than 6 years of assembling at own factories

Tell us why xiaomi ( redmi note) and oneplus ( nord) phones have more reports of 🔥🔥 than samsung, when samsung sells much more phones?

That doesn't even remotely change the fact that Sony was responsible for the QC 🤷 Trying to shift the blame to a Chinese company is crazy given that it was Sony who decided to switch the assembler.

I used to find rear fingerprint sensors superior to everything else as I could easily unlock my phone while picking it up from my pocket for example, but then I bought a phone with a good ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and it completely changed my mind.
Yeah the first optical and ultrasonic FP sensors were bad, slow and buggy but times change. 10 years ago the first android FP sensors were trash compared to the iPhone ones then they got better with time.

I used to be in the exact same "physical is better" boat, but vivo X90 Pro+ and OnePlus 13 really convinced me that ultrasonic readers (GOOD ONES) are just as good as physical ones. Neither of these phones have ever failed to recognize my fingerprint and both are about as fast as the physical readers I've used in the past. Under display fingerprint readers have matured to the point where they're almost indistinguishable from physical ones. That's what happens when you iterate on a technology over a long period of time.

512 GB Storage, also could be seen more wider release this time as the 1 TB option is on the card as well (although 1 TB option could be limited to JP/HK/TW market), even 256 GB still gonna be offer for the upcoming generation

Come on Sony at least make 88-90% Screen to body ratio.Sony prioritized full-stage front-facing stereo speakers, an endangered feature that is already part of Xperia identity since Z3 from 12 years until Xperia 1 VII (even if this HTC's feature at first, but HTC abandoned it while Sony kept it), with the exception never implemented in 2019 Xperia outside Original Xperia Ace (Xperia 1,5,10, 10 Plus, L3) as well unblemished uniformed display. As long these two haven't been sacrificied, Sony will keep this identity classic that have its fans even if it's not a lot.
