I Am GoD 9, 24 Apr 2026Releasing everything and nothing at all. I wish this product line would go awaySlabs are the ones that shoukd go away. At this point in time it is a geriatric design.
Phones used to continuously change in my world, from the early bricks, to the streamlined late 90s phone, to the nano phones and/or flip hones of early-mid 2000s and eventually the capacitive slab phones.
No design would last more than a decade. And let's say that slab phones were affronted a 2nd decade because of face-lift they got 10 years ago (they are now all screen/bezeless though even that was hated at first).
But even that is old. We need phones from "Her"/Westworld to replace the ancient slab design. And we will never get it if they keep pricing folds twice as much as slab phones.
We need it commodified. Go head in head vs the slab design. And there will be various designs of folds: flip, wide, square, trifold.
Enough with the tyranny of slabs, their tiny screens and how basic they look. If folds commodify (I.e. released in all price ranges not just the ultra high end) watch them kill slabs. Because when closed they act like slabs, but they can open into decent size too. Slab screens are just tiny...

Interesting that the folded size is "rumoured" to be exactly double the unfolded size. That's a first. Does this mean they've found a way to get rid of the protective frame? 🤔

You want a selfie, use the outer display or main cameras!
GAMIR3DH, 24 Apr 2026Under display camera on the inner screen please.I think moving it to the corner makes more sense. We're not yet at the stage where the under-display camera can compete in terms of quality. Once that day comes, I would have a different opinion.
I think this is good news - the thinness of Fold 7 makes it an unergonomic phone. I hope they bring back the stylus, too. Though I think I'd rather upgrade to the rumoured wide variant of this.
