Will the arrival of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 and pro chip variants convince Google to discard their lackluster Tensor chips and reunite with Qualcomm? If so then Google Pixel 11 Pro LX will be my top choice, if not then I'll settle for OnePlus 16 which I know will be a top premium phone powered by Qualcomm. For reference, currently in 2026 I have a OnePlus 11 purchased in 2023 powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and it still performs great.

As per quick AI, SD 8 Gen 5 is a flagship-tier processor offering ~55% faster CPU than SD 7 Gen 4. The SD 8 Gen 5 features newer Oryon Gen 3 cores (up to 3.8 GHz), delivering far superior raw power. The SD 7 Gen 4 in comparison uses Cortex-A720 cores aimed at power efficiency.

You: "Even If you do buy the Snapdragon 8 Gen phone, if you aren't playing heavy demanding games, the Gpu isn't getting utilized."

What sense in this statement ? Does this mean Qualcomm return the excess money back to you if you don't use its GPU fully ?? Or you assume SD 8 Gen 5 and SD 7 Gen 4 chips costs the same ? lol

"For non-phone gamer users, there should be Flagship CPU with a basic GPU integrated, so that they can enjoy high performance general usage without wasting money on a high end mobile GPU."

If you just want high performance general usage, a midrange Snapdragon 7 Gen should do the job and provide with great battery life as well.
            You don't need a Snapdragon 8 Gen.

Even If you do buy the Snapdragon 8 Gen phone, if you aren't playing heavy demanding games, the Gpu isn't getting utilized. And the Snapdragon 8 Gen CPU is available on budget flagship as well, so the price isn't an issue either.

Your entire understanding about mobile computing is all over the place.

Talk about base on arm architecture, This will only increase performance slightly, but compared to five years ago, the increase will be drastic. If we're talking about annual performance, that's for sure.

For non-phone gamer users, there should be Flagship CPU with a basic GPU integrated, so that they can enjoy high performance general usage without wasting money on a high end mobile GPU. Desktop PC CPU like Ryzen 9 9950x for example only have basic graphics support builtin, but it is currently one of the fastest CPU in the segment. Similar CPUs should be available in smartphones as well. Why always club 1 useful + 1 useless hardware ? More choice should be available for end users.

If my current phone chipset is 3nm, and I won't need to replace my phone for 5 or more years, I'll definitely get a phone with 1.x nm chipset.
