If a "Carol" apply for a job in the EU/USA and many other countries, employers will automatically assume it's a female applicant. Just like Kim. Until a few years ago, I didn't know that males can be called Kim in South Korea. This is creating some awkward situation for applicants named Kim, I actually have a personal and funny experience with a "Kim".

In the same time i think exchanging opinions here is enough, and why would i sound like a female? I am actually not, but what can i say, thanks? Apparently i am not that aggresive talking as people say 😂. The name Carol in eastern europe is for men. I also have different email for different purposes, but i still am not found of giving them to random persons, no offense.

It would be nice to have you as an "internet friend". And by the way, your alias is femaleish and you sound like a female, which is rather a rare breed on tech sites.

But thank you of the high thinking of my, i am actually avarage in my line of work, there are way better then me, that are also more fit. It did cross my mind to do something for parents, like classes with some colleagues, to raise awareness, or better said, to educate parents about the internet and the options for keeping it safer, especially for their kids.

But after seeing the amount of ignorance out there, and dealing with people who “have nothing to hide,” promote themselves on social platforms, or even post their own kids doing stupid things online, I realized the problem cuts way deeper than I thought. Probably there is a huge gap in education on global scale, bigger than i am aware of. Those who are already conscious of internet dangers are probably already doing something about it, and trying to protect their kids as much as possible. The rest, the mass of uninformed/uneducated people, probably wouldn’t attend such courses anyway, so yeah, I abandoned the idea.

Well, you are at least doing semi-ok on your PC. As for "in private" browsing mode, yeah that does nothing really, is just for your family to not know what sites you've been visiting, but the internet knows them all, and sites are still snooping into your cockies.
In my homble opinion VPN is not really a good idea. You have to pay them and mostly with a card and some sort of identity. So most so called "VPN Providers" have your traffic connected to your account, that's connected to you and your bank account. It is actually worse then not having one, in my opinion. There might be some privacy friendly VPNs but never tested one. Firefox might be interesting, but well if you really want privacy and receive anonimity as a bonus, TOR Browser is the only way.

I have everything turned off, since ever, they never turn on automatically or something, and with adguard at the gates i really do not know how ads look like. Firefox (sadly not for mobile) also has a feature ,that i have not seen in any other browser, called containers. This is now the main reason i will never switch. What containers do? They practically help you separate your browsing cookies frrom the pool, so shoppjng sites, or facebook like sites cannot snoop into your history. If you ever wandered how come amazon knows what you search on another site, well because they snoop into your browsing cookies and pretty much use that info to serve you what they consider you really need. And yes, a lot of sites snoop into your browser as much as they can even if they are not shopping sites.

As for phones that avoid your private DNS, yeah, the majority of phones do that. You can protect yourself with the RethinkDNS app and set your own DNS in it. The app uses a VPN tunnel and catches port 53 queries that want to avoid the tunnel. Port 53 is the DNS port. WhatsApp is avoiding private DNS too, it uses the 8.8.8.8 server for DNS queries, that's Google's DNS server. Very sketchy from them, but then again, when was Meta not a sketchy company?

Anyhow, Rethink catches them and redirects them through the tunnel, therefore through your private DNS. The amount of work one has to do these days to keep its privacy balanced is almost crazy. No typical user will be able to do all the necessities, from debloating using ADB, to DNS redirect and patching settings, without at least a few hours of intensive learning about how it works and why... and I mean learning tech, not how to play games and do some screen touching while knowing what RAM and CPU are. I still hope tough that the world gets better at this and not worse, as it now happens.

I am saying this because some confuse knowing tech with knowing how to use a touch screen and start some games, calling themselves "power-users."
So this is the first reason why I switched to e/OS, got tired of removing Google from my devices, have no energy and time for that anymore. I actually hoped for my family to switch too, but yeah, that's another complicated story, as all got way too used to Google's "free" services, and i can't force nobody into understanding.
