Now I'm curiousThat's because Qualcomm Snapdragon chips still doesn't have the required AVF support for Linux Terminal, even for the current 8 Elite Gen 5*. Until Qualcomm includes AVF support for upcoming SoCs, the best solution right now is to use any smartphones with Dimensity, Exynos, and Tensor chip**. I won't comment much on Dimensity since MediaTek hasn't said much about it. But for Exynos 2500/2600 and Tensor chips, you're pretty much good to go. No words about Linux Terminal support for Exynos 2200 and 2400 as of this writing though.

Both are not worth the money imo. Better pick at least a Xiaomi than those 2. Only time to consider getting a S25+ is when it's price is reasonable. Like 500usd.

S26 Plus all the way, especially since Android 16 Linux Terminal feature can be used on the Exynos 2600 chip. No such luck for Snapdragon chips.

Basically the only thing that changed is CAMERA BUMP
and its being like this for the past 4+ years and dont get 'em fool you Snapdragon Elite is miles better than Exynos simply because it has better and more efficient modem and way better software compatibility which results in better performance and battery life

It's the same thing over and over again.
The last time a Galaxy S+ is a no-brainer upgrade of its predecessor was the Galaxy S23+ over the S22+. And that was because Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was built on Samsung's node which at that time is inferior compared to the current and (maybe) futute Samsung nodes. And it was even more inferior compared to the TSMC's 4nm node used in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
This is then combined with a bigger battery (4.5K mAh vs. 4.7K mAh), making the battery life considerably better.
Furthermore, UFS 4.0 made its debut back then, making the difference even more prominent. Samsung also decided to remove 128GB option and add 512GB storage option.
Afterward, it's just... all that. Slightly better battery, a small changes in the camera, newer chipset, bla bla bla. 2K resolution in that kind of screen is not a considerable thing. Chinese phones' 1.5K resolution makes more sense.
"But the newer model have longer software updates!"
Listen, pal. Hardware ages faster than software. And this applied even in flagship levels. Every year significant background changes is a thing. The moment the newer model gets its final updates the hardware is crippling to follow the changes. It's better to pair the hardware with software it is comfortable with.
Remember, SoCs are not like PCs hardwares. They're not modular. You can't just install new component to make it compatible with new softwares.

So more or less the same phone. You’re essentially paying way more for a slightly newer if not exactly better processor and an extra year of software updates
