In my opinion, pre-teens should not be messaging anyone. Most games remove the chat feature entirely when you select this age range. It should stay that way!
potato4k, 12 Mar 2026How can they enforce that? All you need to create a WhatsApp account is a phone number.I believe there is a special account for kids on Android Google play and iOS App Store. I believe kids can't install any app without the parents' consent. Am I wrong?
Note: I don't have kids (yet).

This is just another excuse for breaking end to end encryption, thereby allowing Meta to peer unchecked into every detail of children's lives to find how best to get them addicted to their next product. A great tool for parent predators who sexually abuse their own kids as well, by making it less safe for victims to reach out for help online.
Children younger than 13 y/o’s only technology they should access is TV and PC for games. Nothing else, in my opinion.
Another malicious scheme from meta to target even more people and have even more money
Soo we're NOT letting the Internet and AI raise our kids? Oh wait, I see it now.. the smoke is clearing.
(slow clap) Great job on not giving authority of kids' accounts to governments, but to where they belong - THE FRICKIN' PARENTS OF THE KIDS!

"Age. You must be at least 13 years old to register for and use our Services on your own (or such greater age required in your country or territory). If you are under this age, your parent or guardian can create a parent-managed account for you if it is available in your country or territory. If you are creating a parent-managed account, please read these Terms with your child and ensure that you both understand them."
How about a managed account for regular accounts where we can block statuses, etc? It can be useful for employees in a small business where only chat and calls are needed.
Like nowdays a kid cant make own account without said restrictions.
Age is just a number anyone can skip.
When i was in their age was toying on a sand just like everybody else in 70s, 80s nowdays many kids of age 10 and less knows more than many adults.
I love how they're making up all sorts of words just to avoid saying "children".
Jeez, doesn't Meta have enough business already? They are already making adults' and teenagers' lives miserable, now they're targeting children too?
When will WhatsApp implement charges for users who add more than four members to a group? Many business owners and companies use this feature to distribute work-life balance updates to employees. I hope the organization will take appropriate action on this matter.

Parents don't understand what kids discussing in the chat group, they live in different planet. This is what's happening in Indonesia.
