A telephoto camera would likely force them to increase the price, which would take sales away from the A series and to S26 FE and potentially to other competitors that offer better hardware.

So the Galaxy A27 gets hole punch like A36/A56, A37 has same display, and A57 and S26 FE uses flexible OLED with thin, uniform bezels.

But that also depends on the HW that ... moreThe problem with SD card is that the ones consumers would probably get are the cheap slow and highly unreliable ones. Why? Because good SD cards are actually expensive. So when these consumers put these cheap SD cards into the phone and something goes wrong, especially if their data became corrupted, they would blame the phone. OEMs wouldn't want to deal with that, so might as well cut it out and upsell people to higher storage models. Less headache, more money.

As for those looking to use a microSD card for extended sessions: get a USB-C hub with a charging port so that you can charge and use your accessories at the same time, they are easy to come by.

A telephoto lens would be nice though.
Basic wireless charging would also be nice given that even the most economical cars--in where I live--have them now.

Spend the money on improving the main or especially t... moreThey already upgraded their camera from using their own sensor to replacing it with sony' sensor which is more superior than Samsung's own sensor. The no headphone jack is alright since wirless earbuds are everywhere now, jbl,sony,Samsung, huawei and other third party brands and besides wireless charging for my opinion is not so practical because it will generate heat from the back, I know they have contingencies for that but I would rely on wired charging more than wireless charging for safety measures. The onlything I want them to improve A57 and A37 is upgrading usb c 2.0 to 3.1 with display port technology. With alot of android desktop mode development currently going on, I think it would benefit it to the A series devices for better productivity. Secondly, they can replace that macro lens with telephoto lens upto 3x optical zoom or something and thirdly, they should reposition that optical fingerprint sensor a little bit higher so that now bar would not be just floating out of place in the center of the lockscreen.

Dump the macro lens - it is pointless.
Spend the money on improving the main or especially the ultra wide.
If you must get rid of SD card support then offer higher capacities than 256GB.
Obviously I'd like the headphone jack back but it looks like that ship has sailed.
Add wireless charging to the A5x range, maybe even the A3x range.
It's not rocket science.

A lot of really old ones (Class 4, Class 10) that were common in 2011 are pretty much unusably slow, the newer but still common U3 / V30 cards are perfectly fine for most photo / video storage. SD Express costs more as it only became common this year but is plenty fast enough for even game storage, as Nintendo has shown. A lot of things don't need anywhere near the max transfer rate, in fact midrange phones like this one tend to use older memory standards (the A56 used UFS 3.1) and still work well enough. Emerging technologies like MiniSSD are faster than all but the latest UFS versions and shouldn't have a noticeable impact on any phone users.

Some SD card readers can be as fast as some SSD's (not all).
With that said, it's not about the "slow" transfer speeds.
Oh no, no, no.
That's just a excuse to up-selling you a monthly cloud subscription.
Just like the removal of the headphone jack just to up-sell the "buds", eventhough both wired and wireless headphones can live in harmony.
