I am very disappointed by the downgrade of the screen of the Classic version! As I had almost all the versions of Samsung Galaxy watches, I am still using the Watch 6 Classic, because in the 7'th generation they pulled out the Classic, and now at 8'th when reintroduced again, it has the biggest downgrade ever, the screen is smaller! So, in a world of upgrades, you receive a downgrade! And not ordinary, but the most important of all: the screen size. When this Classic watch is targeting the real men above 30-40 years, when the reasons we buy this watch are mainly two: the big size and screen because is manly and we also need big screen as we start having problems with near vision, which is a general problem for men above 40. So, this is a huge disappointment and because of that I will stay with Galaxy Watch 6 and will not buy the new β€œupgrade”! Also considering migrating to Huawei because of this!

GSMA: You really need to measure stuff rather than just reprinting their advertise BS!
It's substantially thicker than 8.6mm. More something like 11.7mm including the protrusion dome, and 9.8mm excluding it. To get the 8.6, you will need to dismount the backplate and the sensors....
I added a few numbers here:

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2025Same old Exynos W1000 CPU from last year, no larger battery capacity. Nothing. Just the price ... moreThe same w1000 is only available to classic 8 in the first time for classic lineup. Just noting.

With just AOD disabled, my Galaxy Watch Ultra gets me through 3 days and nights, usually. With some tracking turned down, manual brightness, no flick to wake and whatnot I could probably stretch it but I am genuinely curious what specific settings you run

What a surprise, what I said is now officially confirmed by Samsung. The new design allows them to put in a bigger battery and even allows for a flatter/ thinner design.

Waynder, 10 Jul 2025Garmin Fenix 8 with optimization up to 45+ days of battery XDWell, one is a 125Euro watch(the price i bought the galaxy 5 pro no LTE with) and the other is a 800Euro watch that works as a notification endpoint. For example i see i can't answer whatsapp messages on Fenix. Also sms answering is only predefinded ones and not working on iOS. So that is an expensive long batery smartband on an iphone, not a watch companion

alfamus, 10 Jul 2025Samesung does it again. No worthy improvements! It's been about five seconds since the last model, or several models before that, what improvements do you expect? We're still in the middle-ages. I bet you're a couch potato who is just pointing fingers. In 1000 years you can expect much better innovation. But us here in this life, this is about as good as it will ever get. Human life is too short to really experience anything huge.

There no exclusive wearos or watchos watch with decent battery life. Better get garmin or any non-wearos watches

I have a propperly configured watch 5 pro. I get 4+ days of usage without AOD and use it as a companion to the phone. I am seriously thiking, for more than 1y of switching to Apple. There is nothing there, warch/companion wise that can get me more than 1day of usage. I will be buying a new Samsung phone this fall because of that. If the Galaxy watch would work fully with other brands i would have been on iOS by now.

What a fail. Advanced users (usually male) don't want smaller screen (Classic). Not that it helps, watch is still large, but with small screen.
