Some Samsung panels has q-dot films from Japan companies e.g. Nanosys thats is own by Japan Shoei Chemical. Most of OLED panels from Samsung are made on japan Canon Tokki machines. Have a nice day.

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2025I'm pretty sure the display's would either still be LG/ Samsung. I don't think ... moreThere are two types of processor when it comes to TVs. One for typical functioning of TV which uses Mediatek Architecture and then there is extended processor technology for picture processing with company's own (Sony calls XR-Processor).This is where one can differentiate the TV brands. For example, Sony leads here followed by LG and then Samsung.

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2025Uh, Sony doesn't make their own OLED panels, they buy them from LG and Samsung. At most, ... moreNot just colour tuning. It (Processor) decides how much HDR, what colours to display, upscales low resolution to high etc.,. This is the main reason Sony is considered King in flagship TVs followed by LG in second and Samsung in third.

BRAVIA (Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture) is just a brand name for their technological advancements via use of their TV processors.

At now it will be used only in medical displays and automotive OLED UI. Sony should starts doing OLED displays with this tech. That brings future tandem OLED eLEAP beyond true 2000nits. The only OLED displays that Sony produce in Japan are EVF OLED displays for Alpha, Canon, Nikon cameras.

afaik all their line using other company display, for OLED TVs, usually from LG
for lcd-line in past is using sharp display, nowdays many from samsung, some from auo & tcls

they still make image chips though, but not display

it pretty low chance sony make their own panels for either smartphone or TV
the cost would be much higher compared to just bulk-order from samsung/lg

I don't think Sony make the panels, they just fine tune the product - add heat sink & processor. Ironically, the processor's are slow on all TV's - check the UI on any and it's sluggish and to date, no great quality of casting is possible from phone to TV. Even Apple's solution changes the colours and quality isn't as crisp as on phone native.

BRAVIA TV (at least OLED, no idea about LCDs) panels are also manufactured by Samsung or LG.

Thank you very much for this article. I am looking forward to receiving the Sony Xperia 1 VII purple ordered from Amazon France because it will not be released in Switzerland. But the date has already been postponed twice, it is now expected to be released on June 20. Furthermore, the Sony France website shows a lack of availability for the purple while the green would be for June.
