It is definitely not a smartwach but, a very feature rich smartband in a round premium case. This is not a bad thing for many. Smartwach is basically your smartphone squeezed on your wrist with all the apps installed natively. Only thing this smartband misses is the voice assistant. It doesn't need wearOS or GMS to use google assistant,gemini or siri. Garmin cracked a way to trigger each voice assistant with its own OS. Why not huawei?

no Wear OS? instant no buy. non watchOS/wearos watches that are not fitness trackers in 2025 is like buying a 2g feature phone...
basically this watch is another overpriced spyware device from huawei, cant wait for the identical honor version to be released to dodge trade sanctions soon..

It's a shame about Huawei. They were a tech innovator but the US kneecapped them. We probably would have had a lot more innovation from them otherwise. They are coming back and their health tracking according to the Quantified Scientist on YouTube is better than Samsung.

All you need to do is download Huawei Health app from samsung store (or just use provided qr code). Excellent smartwatch, and nice looking too in this purple edition.

Can I have a WearOS watch without any health tracking? I just need a smartwatch that can run all android watch app specially Google maps and can do Calling and SMS / Whatsapp through esim and bluetooth

Or the lack of Google services support is still a ... moreI work in retail and I can confirm that all Huawei wearables with with any brand of phone, on iOS you can find Huawei Health in AppStore while on Android you have to go a bit indirectly, google AppGallery (Huawei's app store) and look up Huawei Health. That's it.

This sounds like a new category of health watches rather than a fitness watch. Interesting how the new generation of wearables will keep track of your health and hopefully will be able to catch health problems before they become more serious.
