I just bought this tablet: Lenovo Legion Y900 13" 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage in white with the original keyboard.

It's fast, it's smooth (I set the screen refresh rate at the maximum 144Hz). Battery life is very good, I received the tablet at 69% battery left, and used it for at least 3 hours thereafter (just setting it up and downloading apps) and there was about 50% battery life. Standby battery life is excellent, virtually no battery run down for over 10 hours on standby.

One of the outstanding features is the keyboard. You can lift the tablet with one hand, and do not need to hold down the keyboard. The keyboard is magnetically attached to the back of the tablet, and the keyboard folds and attaches magnetically to the screen to close. Works exactly like a laptop does. Note that together, it's in laptop weight territory, well over a kilogram by my reckoning (haven't gotten down to weighing the set). Keyboard has excellent key travel and excellent tactility. There is a satisfying resistance and springback when depressing any key, and it helps with typing accuracy due to the excellent feedback. Due to the 13" screen, the keyboard feels spacious and pressing the wrong key is quite unlikely if you are used to using one. Very easy to adjust to the key placements, key spacing is absolutely spot on. The touchpad is outstandingly sensitive, and smooth, both physically, and in tracking your finger movements. There is a full suite of finger gestures, too many to remember offhand but you could practically do almost everything in relation to navigation through finger gestures. Of course, there are air gestures since the tablet screen is touch sensitive.

The screen is an IPS screen. But it is an excellent IPS screen, super bright, super high resolution for a 13" screen. Refresh rates are top notch, no ghosting at all for usual productivity work or high resolution high framerate movie watching or YouTube videos. The touch screen is outstanding, very sensitive, excellent at tracking your finger movement, and registers touches very well. Very seldom you get a false positive.

I love that the tablet has a microSD card slot. I put in a 256 GB card for my photos. Excellent screen for viewing photos of past trips. The excellent chipset and 12 GB memory means that almost no lag for fast scrolling through albums with 1500 - 2000+ high resolution photos (about 3K resolution each). The subtle lag is due to the slow microSD card I use. On the main storage (UFS 4.1), scrolling through photos is outstanding.

The speakers are excellent, at maximum volume blasting Hotel California by The Eagles had zero distortion. I could hear the music clearly throughout my flat (1400 square feet) in every corner, of course with attendant occlusions when in different rooms. The detail in the guitars and all the riffs were clearly audible and very well-balanced.

This tablet is released only in China, and I bought this off someone who purchased it there on a trip and then decided to let it go. This cannot be bought outside of China at the moment as there is no international release. It runs the latest ZUX UI & launcher overlaying Android 16 below. There is only English & Chinese languages available (with simplified or traditional Chinese as sub-options). I run the tablet in English, and there are some strange Chinese - English translations when installing apps and the tablet asks for permission to allow them to install. You can turn on Google Basic Services under Settings -> Apps. This grants the tablet permission to run Google Play Store, and install the Google Play Framework and then every single app on the Google Play Store will become available. I can run Gmail, Google Meet, Google Maps, Sheets, Documents & Slides without any issues. Running Drive is also a cinch. Of course you get a load of Chinese apps, a lot of which are pretty excellent but since I don't quite understand the more technical Chinese (or at least have to pore of the words and try to understand them very slowly), I simply remove all the Chinese apps (except the Lenovo store which cannot be removed), as well as some core apps (all of which can be disabled). Overall, no hardship with the Chinese elements. You'll get by and it won't bother you.

I am not able to get my hands on the original stylus. It's difficult to even know that name which it goes by given the incredible number of Lenovo tablets available and their sub-variants as well as the number of styli that Lenovo has released for their menagerie of tablets. Will be updating this if I can get hold of one.

Overall, excellent tablet, excellent value for money for a tablet equipped with 12 GB RAM, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and 256 GB storage. If you can get your hands on one, don't be shy ordering one from platforms like Taobao. Just ensure that you order one from the flagship Lenovo shop on Taobao, and not the numerous resellers (some official, some authorised, some I don't know what they are). Use the listing from the official Lenovo flagship shop to check the price and shop around. Pricing is very competitive and won't differ by more than US$50 or so, therefore, just use the flagship shop.

And no I have not tested the cameras, and I usually only use the front facing cameras (of which there are 2) for video calls for meetings.

This could've been d... moreIf you want to use that tablet to pay in shops, you’ll need it to have NFC and a SIM card. And the 3.5 mm jack is already a thing of the past. Everyone uses Bluetooth headphones anyway. But what’s more important with a tablet – especially one with hardware like this – is that they’ve kept the SD card slot. Without the card, the tablet might stop working and all your stored data would be lost. Whereas if the data’s on the card, you can just pop the card out and you’re sorted.

No bypass charging? No, thank you. I'll just go with Y700 5th gen with better chipset and cheaper as well.

Anonymous, 08 Jul 2026No NFC? No sim? Seriously? I wonder what drugs Lenovo is on... 🤔 🍄It is a gaming tablet. Highlight GAMING TABLET.

It should be a stationary mobile gaming device not a gaming phone that can be brought anywhere.

Did you not see that there is an SD Card slot for emulation and movie storage? Bro think about WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DEVICE NOT THE STANDARD

This could've been device of the year if you didn't omit those essential features. Now it's just another epic fail.

Compared to many else tablets and brands this one is superior.

Hmmm... if Y700 is an 8.8" and this Y900 has 11" and 13" variant, does this mean that the Y800 might be a 10"?
