Don't fall for this clever trap! Hackers are using fake Google Security pages to trick users into installing malicious web apps that bypass multi-factor authentication and steal passwords. Make sure your team knows how to spot this scam! https://lnkd.in/dJeDmXax #Cybersecurity #ITSupport #DataProtection #BusinessTech

Cybercriminals are getting creative! A new "Zombie ZIP" technique is sneaking malware past 50 different antivirus engines by tricking the software into misreading the archive files. Are your business's defense systems ready for this? https://lnkd.in/gPkMYeX9 #Cybersecurity #InfoSec #TechNews

One million people now know what a threat actually looks like. That’s one million people who can spot a phish, recognize a sus link, and trust their gut when something feels off. Good security shouldn’t come with a bank-breaking price tag. 10,000 partners and 250,000 customers are proof that's possible. Thanks for building with us. Now let's wreck some hackers! 💪

A recent Huntress blog post highlights a concerning reality: despite years of cybersecurity warnings, passwords like "123456", "123456789", and "password" remain the most commonly used credentials globally. According to the article, 35% of people blame weak passwords for getting hacked. Threat actors no longer need to manually guess these combinations; they use automated tools that can crack these simple strings in seconds. Reusing these weak passwords across multiple accounts creates a massive single point of failure for both personal and corporate networks. Basic credential hygiene is still your primary defense against compromise. To protect your infrastructure, you can do the following: - Shift to passphrases: A complex but short password can be cracked by AI in under a minute. The smarter approach is a passphrase made of four or more random, unrelated words. - Mandate a password manager: Use a dedicated manager to generate and store unique credentials, completely eliminating password reuse, like Keeper. - Enforce MFA: Activate Multi-Factor Authentication everywhere to ensure a stolen password isn't enough to grant access. Password spraying is also something important to take note of, where attackers attempt to gain access to different accounts by using a few commonly used passwords. https://lnkd.in/gh8Yjcn3 #CyberSecurity #Huntress #InformationSecurity #PasswordSecurity #Techfusion
