𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱-𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀. The Databricks crowd is in denial about it. Most of their arguments answer an enterprise question while the mid-market is asking a completely different one. At Solv. Systems we've implemented both. We've charged real money for both. We've watched the buying decisions get made over the last two years. The mid-market doesn't have Spark engineers. It doesn't run heavy ML. It isn't multi-cloud. What it does have is Power BI developers, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and a finite budget. That's not a context where Databricks' strengths matter. It's a context where Fabric's pricing, Direct Lake, and Microsoft integration win on default. Fabric isn't technically superior. It's just the right answer for the actual problem the mid-market is solving. Flatten is the right word. Not eliminate. Databricks keeps the enterprise, the ML-heavy shops, and the multi-cloud mandates. It loses the rest. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, including where Databricks still wins and the three-year prediction with receipts: https://lnkd.in/djR9HmGE #MicrosoftFabric #Databricks #PowerBI #DirectLake #DataPlatform #DataEngineering #MidMarket #SolvSystems

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘆. We've spent the last 9 months building a centralised data platform for an international ecosystem restoration organisation. They restore landscapes across multiple countries and report impact to funders, investors, and carbon credit buyers. 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲: data scattered across 10+ systems, manual reporting cycles, and field teams flying blind on daily progress. 𝗡𝗼𝘄: one unified platform on Microsoft Fabric. Automated pipelines pulling from APIs, SharePoint, and every flavour of file. Power BI dashboards giving operational teams real-time line-of-sight, and stakeholder reporting that just works. The point isn't the tech. It's that their team can now focus on what they're brilliant at, restoring ecosystems and creating measurable environmental impact, while their data does the heavy lifting in the background. 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲: locking in governance and auditability across the data estate, with agentic AI integration layered in on top. Proud of this one, and of the team delivering it. 🌱 #MicrosoftFabric #PowerBI #EcosystemRestoration #CarbonMarkets #DataEngineering #SolvSystems

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲. A dashboard nobody opens is the most expensive report you'll ever build. The model can be perfect. The DAX can be elegant. But if the layout, hierarchy, and narrative don't guide the user to the answer, the work doesn't get used. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗫 in Power BI aren't nice-to-haves. They're the reason adoption happens. Same data. Same metrics. Two very different outcomes!! #PowerBI #DataStorytelling #UIUX #DataVisualisation #MicrosoftFabric #BusinessIntelligence #SolvSystems

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 Solv. Systems - 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁!! We worked with an international land restoration & carbon credits organisation that had data scattered across 𝟭𝟬+ 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀. Stakeholder reports were a multi-day manual exercise - every single time. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁: • Microsoft Fabric + OneLake as a single source of truth • Automated pipelines ingesting REST APIs, SharePoint & file-based sources • Role-scoped Power BI dashboards shared with shareholders & funders • Daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly reporting - fully automated • The Reporting Hub report distribution 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁? Real-time field visibility on KPIs, milestones & resource use. No more manual consolidation. No more data chaos. 𝟱 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 unified. Reporting transformed. And the team can now focus on restoring ecosystems - not chasing Excel files. If your data is working against your mission, let's fix that at Solv. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘁!! One of the most frustrating things in Fabric has been watching a busy Monday morning turn into a throttling nightmare - reports rejecting, pipelines stalling, and users wondering why their dashboard is broken. 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 (𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄) 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁? Still running through all the information but a few things worth knowing: • Opt-in, F SKU only (recommended F16+) • Active within 5 minutes — no restart, no downtime • Billed at 3× pay-as-you-go rates for excess CUs • Pair it with Surge Protection for full capacity resilience 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆? Set your overage limit at roughly ⅓ of your daily CU-hours - that's the break-even vs. upgrading to the next SKU tier. This won't replace proper capacity sizing, but it's a genuinely useful tool for handling unpredictable spikes without impacting your users. I do believe its worth enabling on your production capacities today just in case... https://lnkd.in/d6gZMrBh #MicrosoftFabric #PowerBI #DataEngineering #Azure #FabricCapacity

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗔𝗜 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲? For us, it was the way Microsoft connected three critical themes: a unified data foundation with Fabric, stronger governance for AI agents through Agent 365, and faster developer workflows with GitHub Copilot CLI. Together, they point to a more practical blueprint for enterprise AI adoption. In our latest article, we unpack the key takeaways from the event and what they mean for organisations looking to modernise their data platforms, strengthen AI governance, and prepare for scalable AI use cases. 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺. They have a maintenance problem. Pipelines break. Schemas change. Transformation logic written six months ago stops working. Microsoft's acquisition of 𝗢𝘀𝗺𝗼𝘀 is a direct response. Autonomous agents embedded in OneLake monitor for drift, adapt to schema changes, and handle data prep - without manual intervention. Less time fixing pipelines. More time delivering value. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/du2Ec_7y #MicrosoftFabric #DataEngineering #Osmos #SolvSystems
