Over the past days, we had the pleasure of hosting the CARE-O-SENE Consortium Meeting at Sasol Place. Bringing together leading research institutions and industry partners, CARE-O-SENE reflects what strategic collaboration can achieve: advancing catalyst technologies, strengthening the Power-to-Liquid ecosystem, and building capabilities for climate-neutral aviation. It is encouraging to see the progress made across workstreams, from TRL advancement to the development of the next generation of scientific talent. This is how innovation moves forward: through shared expertise, system-level thinking and long-term commitment. We would also like to acknowledge the support of the Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt (BMFTR), whose €30 million funding enables this important work. In support of learners at Lebohang Primary School in Qwaqwa, Sasol Energy M&S CSI, together with Sasol Route 7 Retail, donated 50 school shoes and bags to help children attend school with dignity and confidence. Sasol Route 7 Retail further contributed R10,000 as part of its CSI commitment to community upliftment. This Back-to-School initiative reflects our belief that education is a cornerstone of sustainable community development. Just wrapped up a productive two-and-a-half days at our CARE-O-SENE Consortium Meeting at Sasol Place. Great to have our leaders Sarushen Pillay, Andy Msiza, Cronje Grove and Theo Mudzunga join us at various times during the sessions, to show their support. Huge thanks to the Sasol Place facilities team and especially our dynamic trio of Jana Taljaard, Sunna Schulz and Dr. Lucero Cobos-Becerra for keeping everything running seamlessly. We’ve made strong progress across all workstreams, advanced our catalyst technologies through key TRL levels, and it’s inspiring to see many of our PhD candidates nearing completion.
