Why Hardware-Rooted Security Matters in the AI Era. For years, Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and technologies such as ARM TrustZone have provided a pragmatic approach to securing sensitive operations on connected devices. Isolating a “secure world” in software was a reasonable balance between flexibility, performance, and security — when attackers relied primarily on manual reverse engineering techniques.
