Elyse Betters Picaro

Elyse Betters Picaro is editor in chief of ZDNET, where she leads the site’s editorial strategy and team of journalists. Over the past decade, she has held several roles at ZDNET, including managing editor.

Previously, Elyse was EIC of Pocket-lint and operations manager for Valnet’s consumer technology brands, overseeing Pocket-lint, XDA, and Android Police. Her earlier roles include editor at 9to5Mac and 9to5Google, reporter for regional newspapers in the northeastern US, including the Press-Republican, and contributor to global outlets such as the BBC.

Elyse holds a Master of Fine Arts in publishing from The New School and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
