What happens to synced photos & videos when you sync Samsung Gallery with your Google Storage

  • Photos synced from Samsung Gallery are reflected in Google Photos and all devices connected to the same account.
  • Storage usage: Backed-up media uses your Google Account storage space and is saved in original quality.
  • Deletions are synced: If you delete a photo or video in either Samsung Gallery or Google Photos, it is removed from both apps and cloud storage.
  • Edits are saved: When you edit a synced photo in Samsung Gallery or Google Photos, the changes are saved and backed up. Depending on the app, you may see both original and edited versions in your library.
  • SD Card Support: SD cards are external storage and are not supported directly. Move files to internal storage first to sync them.
  • Duplication: Photos already uploaded via Google Photos backup will not be duplicated if you also enable Gallery sync.

Disabling sync in Gallery settings stops new backups and removes cloud media access in Samsung apps, but it does not sever the link or stop sharing your Google Storage data with Samsung Gallery.
