"404" error message prevents Pixel users from manually downloading latest Android 17 QPR2 Beta

The Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 release took place a few days ago and a major issue has developed for those who need to install it manually. Some Pixel users trying to download the full update are being met with 404 errors. The 404 error indicates a broken link that could be the result of a network connection problem, or it could mean that the full update was pulled by Google due to issues that it is investigating.
On Reddit, affected Pixel users spread the word
On Reddit, some Pixel users reacted to the 404 error by posting about their experiences. Redditor ChapterLow6640 wrote, "Does anyone have the download link for the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 full OTA zip for the Pixel 9 Pro? The official channels are down, and all links are returning 404 errors." Some Pixel users say they had been trying to install the full OTA files for days but couldn't get past the 404 error notification.

Because attempts to download the full OTA Images were returning the error messages, at least one Pixel user was unable to resolve a bootloop on his phone. He was trying to avoid having to put his Pixel through a factory reset. With a bootloop, the operating system fails to load and you see the loading screen with the manufacturer's logo showing on the display over and over again in a cycle as your phone struggles to load the operating system.

Google has not released an explanation yet
So far, Google has not released an explanation for the 404 error. Speaking of which, Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 includes 17 bug fixes itself. It also includes a feature that we told you about over the weekend that allows Pixel users to customize some of the icons that appear on the status bar on their phones.
This issue has nothing to do with the OTA version of the update that is sent to your Pixel phone
To be clear, this has nothing to do with the OTA version of the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 update that is pushed to compatible Pixel devices (Pixel 6a and newer). The 404 error message is appearing to those trying to install the Full OTA Images zip files that allow you to manually install your Pixel device without erasing any personal data.

Full OTA Images are not the same thing as factory images which require the user to unlock the bootloader on his phone and wipe it.
If you were wondering what you are previewing with the Android 17 QPR2 Beta, it is the Android 17 Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) for December. Before that release, we should see the Android 17 Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) for September dropped by Google, which could be released soon. Google releases Pixel Feature Drops every three months.
The Android 17 QPR1 release coming in September will be the last Pixel Feature Drop for the Pixel 6 series, which includes my Pixel 6 Pro. Sometimes one of these quarterly features is a big winner, especially if it is a feature from the latest Pixel model that you have been drooling over.
When it comes to backporting, no one does it as well or as often as Google does for the Pixel. Want an example? But just one year later, Google made the Magic Editor available to Pixel 6 series models along with another feature I wanted, Unblur. This feature clears up older photographs, making them easier to see.
