It's been a strong summer for Hulu, as it's been making good bets on original content plus adding lots of cool shows and movies from partners. August is no exception, as we've got the long-awaited return of King of the Hill, a new Alien TV series that looks awesome, and much more. Here are our three top choices for the most interesting things hitting the streaming service in August, along with a complete listing of all the new programming by date.
King Of The Hill: Season 14 (Aug. 4)
Mike Judge's cult hit animated series returns after 15 years away, and we couldn't be more excited. After selling propane in Saudi Arabia for 20 years, Hank and Peggy Hill move back to Arlen to reunite with old friends. A grown-up Bobby is now working as a chef in big-city Dallas. Most of the original cast is returning, minus a few who have tragically died in the interim. Will King of the Hill be as relatable and funny in the post-Jan. 6th era? We'll see.

The Monkey (Aug. 7)
Osgood Perkins' follow-up to Longlegs takes inspiration from a Stephen King short story, and if you're easily freaked out, keep the lights on for The Monkey. Theo James plays twins who come into possession of a wind-up toy primate that triggers catastrophes whenever it claps its cymbals together. When the creature comes back into their lives as adults, they need to wrestle with the responsibility of its gears while preventing anybody else from dying.

Alien: Earth (Aug. 12)
Created by Noah Howley of Fargo fame, Alien: Earth is a new FX series that we're super excited for. Taking place in the year 2120, it's set on a corporation-dominated Earth run for maximal profit. When a mysterious spaceship crashes to the surface, its payload is... well, you know. A xenomorph makes landfall and a ragtag group of soldiers needs to put it down before it gets loose and really makes things ugly.
