The Blood of Dawnwalker stands out with its well-written story, strong characters, and, most importantly, a system of choices that have real, long-term consequences. The time limit is surprisingly liberating rather than restrictive, and encourages repeated play. Technical shortcomings, weaker combat, and dysfunctional stealth keep it from reaching its maximum rating, but the imperfections are otherwise outweighed by a well-built and reactive world that you won't want to leave.

It's not Plague Tale, and that's actually a good thing. Resonance is a very action-adventure game with a fun, easy-to-grasp combat system that relies more on proven principles. It's breathtaking in its scenery, acting, and especially in its work with one new monster, thanks to which stealth is also present in this work. It's an explosive exotica that can only be brutally mature in cutscenes, but in terms of gameplay it's more of a Hollywood ride, which in all respects starts to get repetitive quite quickly, while it doesn't fully utilize some interesting systems.

Master Collection Vol. 2 isn't quite the archival collection that this legendary series deserves, but the return of Metal Gear Solid 4 after eighteen years is an event in itself. Guns of the Patriots hasn't aged nearly as much as its hero and is still one of the series' absolute best, while Peace Walker and the unjustly forgotten Ghost Babel are valuable additions to the package. For Metal Gear fans, having these nearly lost gems finally together on modern platforms is a cause for joy that easily outweighs most reservations.

Though I was initially a bit skeptical, Mina the Hollower turned out to be a confident title. It leverages nostalgia, yet pulls plenty of fresh ideas out of its retro graphics and design. It showcases a world that is a pure joy to explore and uncover stories within. Platforming challenges go hand-in-hand with a tight combat system and a pile of subtle design layers that fit together to create incredibly fun gameplay. With every new area introducing new challenges, the game stays fresh through the credits and beyond. Plus, optional modifiers make it accessible to virtually anyone.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced breathes new life into a beloved pirate classic. Breathtaking visuals, zero loading screens, and thoughtful gameplay tweaks more than compensate for the weaker new content and lukewarm first impressions of the Animus hub. A must-play for veterans and newcomers alike.

Palworld skillfully blends genres, with the creature collecting and upgrading loop easily standing out as the highlight. The chase for the ultimate team to defeat end game bosses is enticing enough to keep you hooked for hundreds of hours. It’s a shame the rest of the game feels more like a supporting act and lacks the same depth or polish. It constantly tries to hide its flaws by pushing something to collect, catch, or upgrade onto your screen every single minute. Ultimately, that's enough to keep you entertained, even if these "Pokémon with guns" could have aimed higher.

A great expansion that doubles down on the core strengths of Doom: The Dark Ages. The new weapon is immensely satisfying to use, the combat is sharper than usual, and there is plenty of endgame content. You can easily forgive the terrible story and a few design missteps.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight represents the biggest evolution in TT Games' Lego formula to date, seamlessly blending their signature British humor with mechanics inspired by the Batman Arkham series. While held back slightly by weaker stealth elements and classic developer-typical technical bugs, the fantastically detailed Gotham, refined gameplay, and clever tribute to Batman's entire history make this one of the best Lego games ever made.

A delightful puzzle-platformer that won't melt your brain, nor will it bore you with triviality. A charming, inventive family title straight out of Nintendo's wheelhouse.

Go-Go Town! is, above all else, pure fun. An accessible, relaxed mayor simulator that lets you grow your town from a tiny village into a modern metropolis without demanding too much. Don't expect overly complex systems, and it occasionally fails to hide that building works better in co-op, but the rest of the gameplay loop easily outweighs these minor issues. Playing mayor has rarely been this charming.
