𝐖𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬. Research shows that’s the wrong question. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬: Are organisations developing people who know how to think, judge, and stay accountable in an AI-driven workplace? Across decades of research on technology, work, and cognition, one pattern is consistent: → New technologies don’t replace people they redistribute work → Automation replaces tasks, not human responsibility →Value shifts to judgement, synthesis, strategy, and context. → Tools increase risk when humans stop checking, questioning, and deciding This is not new. We saw it with robotics. We saw it with enterprise software. We saw it with the internet. Each time, fear dominated the conversation until organisations learned how to adapt roles instead of eliminating them. What’s different with AI is speed, scale, and cognitive reach. What’s not different is the human requirement. Research in cognitive science and organisational behavior shows: → Tools expand capability. Humans decide what matters. → Over-reliance on automation increases error and liability → Accountability cannot be outsourced to software → Performance depends on knowing when to use AI and when not to That makes self-understanding a business skill. The future workforce advantage will not come from: →↳ Who adopts AI fastest →↳ Who automates the most tasks →↳ Who removes humans from decisions It will come from organisations that develop people who: → Understand how they think → Recognise tool limitations → Integrate AI without surrendering judgement → Take responsibility for outcomes AI doesn’t eliminate the need for human workers. It raises the bar for what human work must be. The most strategic shift leaders can make right now is this: 👉Stop asking how to replace labour 👉Start asking how to retrain judgement, accountability, and decision-making Because in the end, when something goes wrong, it won’t be the tool answering for it. And that’s exactly why humans still matter. ♻️ Share if this resonates ➕ Follow (Jyothish Nair) for reflections on AI, change, and human centered AI #AI #FutureOfWork #Leadership #DigitalTransformation #WorkplaceStrategy

Let’s Talk About Automation for Small & Mid-Sized Businesses In my last post, we talked mainly about enterprise automation , the big, complex projects that save millions through data processing, validation, and integrations. But not every company has that kind of budget or scale. So let’s shift gears and talk about automation for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) ,where the goals are simpler: Real Use Cases for SMB Automation Here are some practical automation examples that deliver real value without heavy investment: Customer Communication & Lead Management Example: Capture leads from your website form → add to Google Sheets → send automated email reply. Finance & Admin Automation Extract data from invoices or receipts and update accounting sheets. Send reminders for pending payments or contract renewals. Social Media & Marketing Example: Reply to YouTube or Instagram comments automatically using AI or scripts. Data Collection & Reporting Aggregate data from multiple sources (Sheets, CRMs, forms) into one dashboard. Automate weekly or monthly reports. Internal Workflows Employee onboarding, task assignments, and approval workflows. Example: Auto-generate onboarding checklists when a new hire joins. If you don’t have a big budget, here are some open-source or affordable tools: General Automation Platforms: n8n – powerful and open-source alternative to Zapier. Make :intuitive and affordable for multi-step workflows. Document & Data Automation: TagUI :open-source RPA tool by AI Singapore. OpenBots :enterprise-grade RPA UiPath StudioX Community Edition : free for individuals and small teams. The key idea: You don’t need enterprise licenses to start your automation journey. Start small, use the right tools, and automate where it hurts the most ,that’s where real ROI begins. What do you think? Sarah Ghanem

Focusing on AI’s hype might cost your company millions… (Here’s what you’re overlooking) Every week, new AI tools grab attention—whether it’s copilot assistants or image generators. While helpful, these often overshadow the true economic driver for most companies: AI automation. AI automation uses LLM-powered solutions to handle tedious, knowledge-rich back-office tasks that drain resources. It may not be as eye-catching as image or video generation, but it’s where real enterprise value will be created in the near term. Consider ChatGPT: at its core, there is a large language model (LLM) like GPT-3 or GPT-4, designed to be a helpful assistant. However, these same models can be fine-tuned to perform a variety of tasks, from translating text to routing emails, extracting data, and more. The key is their versatility. By leveraging custom LLMs for complex automations, you unlock possibilities that weren’t possible before. Tasks like looking up information, routing data, extracting insights, and answering basic questions can all be automated using LLMs, freeing up employees and generating ROI on your GenAI investment. Starting with internal process automation is a smart way to build AI capabilities, resolve issues, and track ROI before external deployment. As infrastructure becomes easier to manage and costs decrease, the potential for AI automation continues to grow. For business leaders, identifying bottlenecks that are tedious for employees and prone to errors is the first step. Then, apply LLMs and AI solutions to streamline these operations. Remember, LLMs go beyond text—they can be used in voice, image recognition, and more. For example, Ushur is using LLMs to extract information from medical documents and feed it into backend systems efficiently—a task that was historically difficult for traditional AI systems. (Link in comments) In closing, while flashy AI demos capture attention, real productivity gains come from automating tedious tasks. This is a straightforward way to see returns on your GenAI investment and justify it to your executive team.

I automated my entire team's workflow—and then THIS happened. Ever wonder what would happen if your team could complete a week's worth of work in a single day? Sounds like a dream, right? Well, that's exactly what we achieved. A few months back, I noticed my team was bogged down with repetitive tasks. Brilliant minds were spending hours on mundane activities. So, I decided to take a bold step. We invested in automating these tasks. The initial push was challenging: - Learning new tools - Changing long-standing processes - Overcoming resistance to change But the payoff was incredible. Results: - Productivity skyrocketed: We accomplished more in less time. - Stress levels dropped: The team felt less overwhelmed. - Innovation flourished: Free time led to creative solutions. - Employee satisfaction increased: Work became more fulfilling. The most surprising outcome? Our team cohesion strengthened. With less time on grunt work, we collaborated more on strategic projects. The takeaway? Automation isn't about replacing people. It's about freeing them to do what they do best. Embrace technology to unlock your team's true potential. Have you implemented automation in your work?

  • ❗Stop Treating AI as a "Replacement Strategy." It’s a "Capacity Strategy"❗ I've heard many iterations of this saying: "AI will not replace managers, but managers who use AI will replace those who don’t." And yet, I observed that not many of the peeps in #HRTransformation and #ChangeManagement communities are aware that the real risk isn't just job loss, it’s "Institutional Skills Atrophy". If we automate the "doing" without preserving the "thinking," we hollow out our future leadership. To increase this topic awareness and to elaborate more on the article I posted yesterday (https://lnkd.in/gGrVXDwS), I’m sharing a high-level blueprint for the "Human-in-Command" Governance Framework, a country-agnostic guides, designed for all organization's maturity levels and sizes. ⬇️ 🚀 The Policy Highlights: HR & Talent Strategy 4.0 (The "4.0" is just to look cool 😎): 1. The Accountability Shield (HR Strategy) Accountability cannot be outsourced to an algorithm. Every AI output must have a Human Sponsor. If the AI-generated strategy fails, the "Failure of Oversight" sits with the human. We don’t accept "The AI told me to" as a defense. 2. The Layers of Autonomy (Org Design): I’ve categorized most tasks into 4 "Layers": Layer 1: Bio-Exclusive. High-empathy tasks (Mental Health, Termination, Vision) stay 100% Human. Layers 2 & 3: Co-Pilot/Logic-Editor. AI drafts; Humans must rewrite/edit at least 30% to ensure "Contextual Nuance". Layers 4: Autonomous. AI handles routine loops with a "Human Kill-Switch." 3. The Succession Safeguard (Talent Management): This is my favorite: "Fresh-Eyes Analog Preservation." To prevent skill atrophy, junior staff must perform 20% of their work in "Analog Mode." We must ensure our future CEOs understand the "First Principles" of the business before they start prompting. 4. The $0.50 Reinvestment Rule (Change Management): (Inspired by 50-Cents , the rapper 😄 ) For every $1 spent on AI tech, $0.50 must be spent on Human Reskilling. This isn't a suggestion; it’s the "Human-AI Value Ratio" that ensures we don't just have better tools, but better people. 📈 The Highlights of SOP for Retention (Not Replacement) How do we implement this without the "R" word? ✔️ Task Triage: Audit roles to find the "Time Dividend" (hours saved). ✔️ Role Enrichment Mapping: Formally reallocate those saved hours to Innovation Projects or Client Relationship Building. ✔️ Outcome-Based Performance: We stop measuring "keystrokes" and start measuring "Decision Quality" and "Prompt Integrity." 🔅 Use AI to let your Entry-level become Analysts, your Managers become Strategists, and your Executives become Visionaries. We don’t use AI to work more. We use AI to work better. Are you seeing "Skill Atrophy" in your company's junior ranks yet? Let’s discuss in the comments! 📳 #GenAI #TalentManagement #HRStrategy #LeadershipDevelopment #OrganizationalDesign #EmployeeRetention

Here's a question: Why are so many businesses using the exact same off-the-shelf AI tools as their direct competitors and expecting to gain a unique advantage? A real, sustainable competitive edge doesn't come from a shared product. It comes from building your own intellectual property. This is the fundamental difference between 'renting' a generic AI and owning a bespoke one. When you build a custom AI, it’s trained on your most valuable asset: your proprietary data. Your internal process logs, your unique customer interaction history, your specific performance metrics. This is a goldmine that generic tools simply cannot access or understand. Let’s make this practical. Imagine a UK manufacturing firm struggling with machinery downtime. They try a generic predictive maintenance tool. It fails. Why? Because it can't integrate with their proprietary sensors or understand the unique operational stresses of their specific machinery. With a bespoke solution, you build an AI that: ✅ Integrates perfectly with their existing legacy SCADA systems. ✅ Is trained exclusively on their years of historical performance data (vibration patterns, temperature, etc.). ✅ Understands the specific failure signatures of their machines. The result isn't a generic dashboard. It's a pinpoint-accurate prediction that a critical component will fail in three days. Maintenance is scheduled, production isn't disrupted, and the business saves a fortune. That is an advantage your competitors cannot copy. That’s your secret weapon. Ever feel like your team is stuck in an endless loop of manual data entry? (Automation Tip Tuesday 👇) That’s exactly where one of our clients — an education consulting firm — found themselves. They were juggling a whole tech stack of tools that didn’t “talk”  to each other, creating inefficiencies and double work. We started with a look into their sales workflow. 🔹 Sales data lived in HubSpot, but once a deal closed, someone had to manually update Asana to track project progress. 🔹 Internal teams worked from one Asana board, but clients needed visibility into their own project timelines — cue more manual updates. 🔹 With so much repetitive data entry, valuable time was being wasted on low-impact admin work. Here’s what we did: 🔗 HubSpot → Asana automation: We created an integration that auto-generates project tasks in Asana when a deal reaches a certain stage in HubSpot. No more copy-pasting! 📢 Internal and client boards sync: Internal progress updates in Asana now automatically reflect on client-facing Asana projects, reducing the back-and-forth. Less busywork, more productivity. By eliminating duplicate data entry, the team saved 10+ hours per week — time now spent on strategy and client success. When your tools work together, your team can focus on what really matters. Where is your team losing time? Drop a comment below! ⬇️ -- Hi, I’m Nathan Weill, a business process automation expert. ⚡️ These tips I share every Tuesday are drawn from real-world projects we've worked on with our clients at Flow Digital. We help businesses unlock the power of automation with customized solutions so they can run better, faster and smarter — and we can help you too! #automationtiptuesday  #automation #workflow #efficiency

AI Won’t Fix Your Broken Culture—Look Within First A recent EY survey reveals that the number of senior leaders investing $10 million+ in AI is set to double. While #AI is certainly transforming how we work, it won’t magically fix deep-rooted cultural problems. In fact, it may even amplify them. Without a strong positive culture, AI can only go so far. And like any tool, its impact will depend on the environment it’s used in. 👉🏾 AI will reflect and scale your culture. If your workplace struggles with disengagement or mistrust, AI may just amplify those issues. It’s not about the tech, but the values behind it. 👉🏾 Leadership still matters. AI can automate tasks, but it can’t replace the need for human leadership—leaders who embody ethical conduct, inspire, guide, and foster a sense of belonging. 👉🏾 Culture is vital for success. The most advanced AI won’t replace empathy, connection, or the human capacity for innovation. Ultimately, people need to feel valued and heard. 👉🏾 Start with culture, then bring in AI. A strong, cohesive culture lays the foundation for AI to enhance and accelerate success. Without it, AI may lead to misalignment and chaos. So, before rushing into AI adoption, leaders need to take an honest look at the culture they’re fostering. Are we creating an environment where people thrive, or just focusing on the bottom line? AI is just a tool, people are the real solution. #AI #leadership #culture #ethics #FutureProofYourLeadership

AI makes buttons easy—and mid-level jobs fragile. 🧠 Usage won’t save you. Work design will. Recent mid-manager cuts at giants (Microsoft, TCS) are a message: coordination, reporting, and routine decisions are the first to be automated. Many firms shout “use AI now,” yet starve people of time, training, and guardrails. From coaching 6,000+ leaders, I see it clearly: managers who merely adopt tools get squeezed; managers who redesign workflows become force multipliers. In 90 days, pivot from “user” to “architect”: map repeatables → pilot 2 AI workflows → codify a playbook → socialise wins with simple metrics. • Block 10% protected learn-build time; tie it to KPIs so it survives. • Ship 1 AI SOP/week (prompt, inputs/outputs, risk, human-in-loop). • Automate the status layer (notes, summaries, dashboards); spend your time on trade-offs and narrative. • Run a monthly “Judgment Line” review: what can AI take next—and what must stay human, and why? • Teach up & across: 30-minute brown-bags to raise team literacy. If you had six weeks and exec cover, which workflow would you redesign first—and what proof would convince your CFO? ⚙️ “AI won’t replace managers; managers who redesign work with AI will replace those who don’t.” Follow me, Sudhakar Reddy G., for more insights on Leadership and Board Governance. Everyone is chasing the next big breakthrough. But here’s the twist: Sometimes, the boldest move isn’t inventing something new. It’s automating what already works—then reinvesting that energy into your people. Let’s be honest. Most leaders get distracted by the shiny object. The latest AI. The next buzzword. The pressure to keep up can be overwhelming. But what if you stopped looking outward and started doubling down on what’s right in front of you? The processes that already drive results. The systems that keep your business running. The quiet routines that deliver real value, day after day. Here’s the reality most won’t admit: → Innovation isn’t always about invention. → Sometimes, it’s about optimization. → The real breakthrough? Freeing up your team’s time to do what only humans can do. So, how do you turn this idea into action? Identify Your Real Workhorses → What are the processes or tools your team uses every single day? → What produces consistent results—even if it isn’t flashy? Automate with Purpose → Don’t automate for the sake of it. → Ask: Does automation save time, reduce friction, and maintain quality? → If yes, map out the workflow. → Find the right tech (no need for the fanciest option). → Test it. Refine it. Make sure it works—every time. Reinvest in the Human Factor → Automation isn’t about replacing people. → It’s about giving them back their most precious resource: time. → Encourage your team to spend that time on: ↳ Building client relationships ↳ Solving complex problems ↳ Coaching peers ↳ Pushing creative boundaries Track the Impact → Don’t just measure cost savings. → Measure how much more your team can accomplish. → How much faster can you move? → How many more ideas get tested? → How much stronger is your culture? Here’s a brutal truth: If you automate what works, you create space for people to do what truly matters. That’s how you outpace the competition. That’s how you make room for growth that’s both profitable and sustainable. But most leaders won’t do this. They’ll keep piling on new tech, new projects, new distractions. They’ll miss the chance to build a team that’s energized, creative, and loyal. Here’s what I see in the field, every week: → The best companies automate the routine. → Then, they invest everything they save into developing humans. → Training. Mentorship. Recognition. → Space to think, experiment, and connect. It feels counterintuitive. But it works. So the next time your board demands “innovation,” ask yourself: → What can I automate today, so my people can do what only they can do tomorrow? If you want a practical framework to audit your workflows and spot what’s ready for automation, drop a comment. Let’s build smarter, more human businesses—starting now.
