As per the Factories Act, State Rules, and NBC 2016 (Part 4 – Fire & Life Safety), here’s what every factory must ensure 👇 🔹 1. Automatic Sprinkler Systems Where Required: High-rise (≥24 m), hazardous occupancies, and flammable storage areas. Design Standards: IS 15105 & NBC norms based on hazard category. 🔹 2. Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Smoke Detectors → For early detection of smouldering fires. Heat Detectors → For dusty/oily process areas. MCPs (Manual Call Points) → At ≤30 m intervals, mounted at 1.4 m height, red “Break Glass” units. Fire Alarm Panel → Central monitoring with backup power. 🔹 3. Fire Extinguishers Portable Extinguishers → Types as per fire class (A–E). Placement → Within 15 m travel distance, mounted ≥0.75 m above floor. Quantity → At least 1 per 100 m² floor area.
