Spot breakpoints before users do. 3. Exploratory Testing Keywords: ��new flow”, “UI revamp”, “unusual user behavior”, “random crashes” Ideal when specs are incomplete or fast feedback is required. Let intuition and product understanding lead. 4. Regression Testing Keywords: “old functionality”, “code refactor”, “hotfix deployment” Always triggered post-deployment or sprint-end. Automate for stability, manually validate for confidence. 5. API Testing (Contract + Behavior) Keywords: “REST API”, “status codes”, “response schema”, “integration bugs” Use when backend is decoupled. Postman, Postbot, REST Assured — pick your tool, validate deeply. 6. Performance & Load Keywords: “slowness”, “timeout”, “scaling issue”, “traffic spike” JMeter, k6, or BlazeMeter — simulate real user load and catch bottlenecks before production does. 7. Failure Modes and Effects Analysis is how engineers, QA, and manufacturing teams predict failures before they happen, assess the risk, and put controls in place. But trust me, it’s not just paperwork. It’s critical thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and risk-based decision-making. Let me give you two examples 👇 ☕ Relatable Life Example You’re making coffee before work. You skip checking the water tank. Boom — no water. Next thing? You’re late, stuck in traffic, angry, and caffeine-deprived. 😤 Your FMEA might look like: Failure Mode: No water in coffee machine Effect: Delayed morning, bad mood, low productivity Severity: 7 Occurrence: 5 (you’ve done it before) Detection: 3 (no alarm on your machine) RPN = 7 × 5 × 3 = 105 Control? ✔ Add checking water to your nightly routine. FMEA is basically engineering-level overthinking with results. 😄 Now lets understand in 🧪 Technical (Pharma) terms: We were introducing a new automated blister packaging line. Before going live, we ran a PFMEA with Quality, Engineering, and Production. We identified failure modes like: Tablet misfeed Foil misalignment Seal integrity failure For each one, we scored: Severity (S) – How bad is the impact? (Patient safety = 9/10) Occurrence (O) – How often could this happen? (Misfeeds = 6/10) Detection (D) – Can we catch it before release? (Cameras = 7/10) 📊 Risk Priority Number (RPN) = S × O × D = 378 That’s high. These 7 steps are non-negotiable: 1) Define what “reliable” means for your domain In healthcare, that might mean no hallucinated clinical advice, escalation of ambiguous inputs, and strict PHI handling. These expectations need to be explicit, testable, and aligned with domain experts not just engineers. 2) Design agents with reliability in mind Reliable agents aren’t just prompted, they’re designed. That means enforcing tool use constraints, fallback paths, and control flows that ensure safe recovery when things inevitably go wrong. We help teams test for failure modes they might not even realize exist—things like prompt injection, tool failures, or unhandled edge cases in decision branches. 3) Simulate messy, real-world behavior Before production, agents must be stress-tested with messy inputs.
