In this episode, Therasa Bell, President & Co-Founder of Kno2, breaks down what it really takes to connect the full care continuum. From post-acute and behavioral health to EMS, dental, vision, and home-based care, meaningful data exchange has to extend well beyond hospitals and physician offices. She also dives into why trust in healthcare communication goes beyond HIPAA and cybersecurity, and what it means to build networks that can responsibly govern data at scale. Community health workers are among the most trusted figures in healthcare, yet they’re often left out of the systems that track services, enable reimbursement, and support scalable care. In this episode, Colby R. Takeda, Co-Founder & CEO of Pear Suite, discusses how his team is bridging that gap—helping community health workers and community-based organizations better integrate with health plans and providers through improved workflows, claims infrastructure, and comprehensive support. He also explores how evolving policy and Medicaid reimbursement are driving new opportunities for community-based care. Listen in to learn why AI should be used to strengthen—not replace—this workforce, how Pear Suite is fostering stronger connections across payers, providers, and communities, and what’s needed to make this approach sustainable at scale.

What if clinicians could see the full patient picture in one place while AI takes care of the busywork? In the latest episode, Dr. Shez Partovi, Chief Innovation Officer at Philips, breaks down why healthcare must move beyond fragmented systems toward integrated diagnostics, and how AI can reduce burnout, streamline workflows, and support better decision-making without replacing the human touch. From ending “pajama time” to building patient-clinician–backward innovation, this conversation gets to the heart of what smarter, more connected care really looks like. The biggest challenge in medicine is the reliance on a "cohort" system—clinical trials, biology, demographics—that dictates care. Samira Daswani of Manta Cares argues that when a patient doesn't fit neatly into a cohort, the entire system breaks down. Making it an imperative for those who don't fit to go against the grain, for survival. This insight explains Manta Cares’ focus on purpose-built, narrow AI. Samira shared that 90% of the use case for their AI partner, Hope, is treatment decision making. P atients know their call is coming, and they need contextual support to make it confidently. This reinforces the principle that responsible, impactful AI in health tech must be narrowly focused to empower specific populations rather than offering generic solutions. Everyone is obsessed with using AI in healthcare—but we’re asking the wrong question. More data ≠ better outcomes. Foundational models are built on existing datasets shaped by cognitive bias and fee-for-service systems designed for volume, not outcomes. Scaling that data may improve efficiency, but it does not guarantee accuracy in diagnoses, personalization, or better care. Without human oversight, we risk turning biased inputs into scaled misinformation. The future is AI + human judgment + transparency. In healthcare, black boxes aren’t innovation—they’re liability. The winners will be those who combine AI with auditable logic, clinical rigor, and accountability to drive more humane connection, disease prevention, and total cost reduction.

The healthcare industry must actively avoid creating the "reverse centaur" model—an AI brain driving a human body. Dr. Tim O’Connell, CEO of emtelligent , warns that automating workflows without providing proper tools and safety checks pushes too much responsibility onto clinicians. Tim emphasizes that trustworthy AI provides validation and keeps the human firmly in the loop to confirm information before decisions are written down. This is key to preventing burnout and ensuring safety. Catch the full conversation from ViVE in comments. #HealthTech #AIgovernance #ResponsibleAI
