🧠 What if AI could help doctors "see" inside the brain — without surgery? Assistant Professor Feng Liu in the Department of Systems Engineering at Stevens is looking to make that a reality. His research merges machine learning with clinical neuroscience to decode brain activity, map hidden seizure pathways and unlock new approaches to conditions like epilepsy, traumatic brain injury and addiction. The work is as fascinating as it sounds. 🔗 Read his story: https://lnkd.in/eRX5xsgx #StevensInstituteOfTechnology #SchaeferSchool #SystemsEngineering #Neuroscience #AIResearch #FacultySpotlight #BrainHealth

When storms move fast, data has to move faster. 🌧️🌊 Stevens Institute of Technology has installed a cutting-edge X-band weather radar system on its Hoboken campus, bringing hyperlocal, high-resolution storm tracking to the New York metropolitan area. Led by Gallaher Associate Professor Marouane Temimi and the Davidson Laboratory, the new system sharpens real-time forecasting for flash floods and rapidly intensifying storms. The radar also enhances the Stevens Flood Advisory System — used by the National Weather Service and regional emergency managers — providing more precise data and critical lead time. 🔗 Read the release: https://lnkd.in/eANsaNb3 🎥 Check out the video for a closer look: https://lnkd.in/eVNfcaRi Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering at Stevens

💧 Clean water is one of public health’s biggest success stories... but there’s still more to uncover. New research from Stevens shows how #AI is helping researchers take a closer look at what happens after drinking water is disinfected, and why that deeper understanding matters. Led by Tao Ye, assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering at Stevens, alongside Ph.D. student Rabbi Sikder, EIT, the work highlights how machine learning is accelerating environmental research in ways traditional methods can’t. 👉 Read the full story to see how this model is reshaping how scientists approach water safety: https://lnkd.in/e_FtbJDY

Moments like these are why access matters. With support from the Schaefer School, a host of Stevens students recently attended the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) National Convention — and turned the experience into real outcomes, from internships at Texas Instruments and PSE&G, to full-time roles at Eaton and beyond. For many first-generation engineers, opportunities like this can be truly career-defining. We're proud of our students for showing up, making connections, and representing Stevens the way they always do. 🚀 More detail from the SHPE at Stevens Institute of Technology chapter: https://lnkd.in/e5JprSQk
