So pleased to have represented Sage at #WCRI2026 this week on the evolving challenges in research integrity across the spectrum. Despite best efforts of running between sessions, I was sad to miss out on brilliant talks and initiatives so I'll join my colleagues in requesting the conference organisers to consider focussed tracks and themes so we don't miss out. I had the honour of presenting a symposium entitled “Wardens of Knowledge: Sleuths and Publishers Collaborating to Preserve Research Integrity.” My talk focused on a challenge many of us are grappling with: how we respond to research integrity at scale in a rapidly shifting landscape. From paper mills to AI-driven misconduct at a scale that’s testing existing systems and assumptions- there is so much to think about and consider when working beyond the individual issues. Responding effectively isn’t just about better tools or policies. It’s about working differently together across the sector with stronger collaboration between sleuths, publishers, and institutions. Lots to reflect on, and even more to do. I am delighted to have partnered with Achal Agrawal, PhD René Aquarius and Laura Wilson and committed to bringing research integrity sleuths and publisher research integrity leads.
