We are incredibly proud to feature Somak Chattopadhyay, Founder and Managing Partner at Armory Square Ventures, as a panelist for our NY Tech Week emerging manager event on June 4th. Somak founded Armory Square Ventures in 2014, which has over $100 million in capital under management and has generated top decile returns for institutions, family offices, and university endowments tied to New York State. He was an early investor in ACV Auctions and BentoBox, among numerous other high growth technology companies. Somak's perspective is especially valuable given his deep commitment to fueling innovation outside of major coastal capitals and his unique vantage point serving on New York State's Emerging Technology Advisory Board, chaired by IBM CEO Arvind Krishna on behalf of Governor Kathy Hochul. #NYTechWeek #VentureCapital #EmergingManagers #NewYorkVentures #ArmorySquareVentures

We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Rachel ten Brink, General Partner and Co-Founder of Red Bike Capital, as a panelist for our NY Tech Week emerging manager event on June 4th. Rachel brings a rare combination of founder, operator, and investor experience to the table. Before launching Red Bike Capital, she co-founded Scentbird (YC-backed and top 2% by revenue), scaling it to over $300 million in ARR. She also spent two decades building billion-dollar brands at Fortune 500 companies including L'Oreal, Procter and Gamble, Estee Lauder, and Elizabeth Arden, and was an active angel investor backing 32 companies before founding Red Bike. As a founder who has navigated the fundraising journey firsthand and as an investor backing the next generation of category defining companies, Rachel has a deep understanding of what it takes to build from both sides of the table and will provide a unique perspective on the panel. #NYTechWeek #VentureCapital #EmergingManagers #NewYorkVentures #RedBikeCapital

In 2020, he also founded the Takeoff Institute, equipping Black undergraduate students with the resources and mentorship needed to launch successful professional careers. New York Ventures is excited to participate in CREW Carbon’s $25M funding round through our Innovation Venture Capital Fund. US wastewater plants process 30B+ gallons of sewage a day. Most are near or beyond capacity, and major upgrades can cost $100M-$500M. CREW built a system that increases plant capacity by up to 60% (without any construction or permits) while permanently removing CO2. More from The Wall Street Journal below: https://lnkd.in/eresZ5fS
