YouTube Ads - I'm watching!

This week I've watched three ads on YouTube completely, and pathetically, through to the end rather than hitting the "Skip Ad" button. I've always clicked "Skip Ad" without even thinking. These are ads that are minutes in length! Who has time to watch ads? A few times I didn't even end up watching the video I came to YouTube to see! I've entered the multiverse...

Something interesting has been happening in the world of digital marketing recently. Ads are becoming the entertainment competing with the content they're supporting. Is there a concern that as more ad content becomes better produced, the content developers (you, me, millions of individuals, entertainment companies, etc.) will feel disintermediated if they put their content on sites like YouTube? After all, the goal of the ad is to distract you and drive you to their site or message, to make you take immediate actions, rather than the content the ad sits in front of. Aren't they hijacking your/our content and paying us to attempt a 'hijack'? It's funny that the ad that drove me to the "Masterclass YouTube Page" has an ad before it if you just go to the ads landing page - see for yourself on the below link. Is the new cost of having advertising to hope your video has the worst ads?

How can we create an environment that achieves a win/win/win for the viewer, advertiser, content owner? Is there a value meter in content that can algorithmically identify this win/win/win? What are the mechanisms to thread marketing, sales, and an individuals focus to get to their initial goal? Maybe there should be a metric that scores the ads ability to make you take action, yet achieve your goal of getting through to the action you intended and maybe there's AI that can support this issue with distractions by understanding your goals and managing your distractions?

Below are the ads that got me. Enjoy or buy?....

A pre-content ad is one thing, but a beguiling infomercial?  Overreach.
