A Warm Cup of Memories
Coffee and tea are more than just hot beverages. They bring people together, create conversations, improve your mood, and even help keep you company when you are feeling down. Looking back on my life, coffee and tea were always there for some of my favorite moments.
When I was younger, my father worked for a coffee company in southern New Jersey. Sometimes, he would take my younger brother and I to work with him. When you walked in the building, the smell of coffee would instantly hit you. It is a great smell. While my father was working, my brother and I would go into the warehouse and climb on the burlap bags of coffee beans and play hide and seek. Even today, whenever I get a whiff of that aroma I am instantly whisked back to those fun times.
Coffee and tea remind me of other family moments. A nice warm cup is always present with dessert during holidays and birthdays. These are times when the entire family is present (which doesn’t happen often) and everyone is laughing and genuinely enjoying each other’s company. Unfortunately, as you get older these moments occur less often because of distance and other commitments.
Whenever I have a cup of cappuccino, I am reminded of my time in graduate school. After working eight hours at my day job, I drove to class four nights a week for two years. I wasn’t a coffee drinker at the time, but started picking up a French vanilla cappuccino at the local convenience store on my way to class. I think the cappuccino not only gave me the jolt I needed to stay awake but it put me in a better mood and helped me to better enjoy my classes.
On August 11, 2013, I sat out on the deck in my backyard with my girlfriend at the time. It was a beautiful, sunny morning. We were both enjoying breakfast and a delicious cup of coffee, discussing our plans to go to the beach for the day. My girlfriend got up to take her dishes inside and get ready for the day, when I said, “Wait…I have to ask you something.” She turned around and I was down on one knee asking her to marry me. It was one of the best days of my life. We still sit around on the weekends and start our days with a cup of coffee.
As you can see, coffee and tea are there for a lot of life’s greatest moments. So, what are you waiting for? Order yourself some coffee or tea from www.jjcoffees.com and make some memories of your own.
