Teaching has always been and shall continue to be one of the finest choices in life. The ability of teachers to rise during adversity and provide selfless opportunities for all makes them so incredibly special.

The role of a teacher is even more extraordinary today as – it is no longer about dissemination of information, or transfer of knowledge but about leading into the unknown and empowering students in making a significant contribution to the amazing world we live in.

Across the globe, there is a sense of despondency and a feeling of uncertainty, and for the youth this can be even more devastating as the most exciting and happening phase of their life has been pushed into a sombre state. During these trials and tribulations, teachers are the principal anchor and support system that can help calm minds and give a sense of direction to our youngsters. It is also during these times that the precedence to become responsible, sensitive, and sensible global citizens can be demonstrated and no one else can do this better than a teacher.

As we celebrate teacher’s day in India today, we celebrate the choices of all those who opted to become a teacher. We celebrate the continuous determination to conquer all odds. We celebrate the resilient efforts in fighting the disruptions due to the pandemic in the last few months and in making learning an ongoing experience. We celebrate the buoyant enthusiasm you- the teacher brings to the classroom and we celebrate the life purpose that you have created for yourself and for countless others- by being such a generous and gracious knowledge sharer. We celebrate YOU!
