Reed of the Week

The Streamy Awards

The nominees for the Streamy Awards were announced last week, and it’s always great to see talented creators nominated for their work over the past year. Jimmy received 5 nominations (for everything from Feastables to philanthropy) and Night creators altogether received 22 nominations across 15 categories. You can find the full list of nominees here.

One thing that stands out to me is that four of 2023’s nominees for Best Creator Product (MrBeast, Blogilates, Logan Paul, Mark Rober) were nominated for Creator of the Year in 2022. At an increasing rate creators are taking advantage of big years in the content space to build creator businesses. PRIME, CrunchLabs and Feastables all began within the last two years, and all of the creator products nominated don’t show any signs of slowing down.

The Streamy’s is always a nice opportunity to acknowledge the amount of effort that creators put into their craft. Well done to those nominated, and congratulations to those who will take their category home later this month.

Love that Elon opened monetization for creators and with a similar 10% take as Kick.     Seems like monetization for the creator community is starting to pop up everywhere now!     Social, Streaming, and Gaming have all made the leap in supporting monetization for creators. What industry or large company do you see being next?

It’s crazy to think that Ryan is still just a 12 yr old kid and has had this massive brand for what seems like forever. I wonder if he takes the money and runs or reinvents himself 10 years from now to build off of his childhood success.
