Successfully executed the role of “Data Manager” for the ESRD Network 18, a Government Medicare/Medicaid (CMS) subcontractor overseeing the data and quality issues pertaining to over 300 dialysis and transplant facilities in the Southern California area from San Diego up to Monterey and covering approximately 30,000 dialysis and kidney transplant patients.

  • Reduced average time for processing claims from 21 days to 7 with no reduction in quality.
  • Increased quality and accuracy of data from 75% to over 95%.
  • Accomplished the above while undergoing a 33% reduction in staff.
  • Planned and implemented a full system conversion from 90's technology to state of the art, including creating a fault-tolerant on-premises rack-mounted server/networking data center to provide 24/7 access to data.

Successfully transitioned from “consultant” to Lead Developer to Team Leader to Project Manager/Senior Analyst.

  • Applied business process automation techniques to establish remote management system at our US headquarters that allowed us to access and control 11 separate operational networks in 9 different states.
  • Developed software that facilitated simple, secure, and easy communication between pharmacists, doctors, and patients (pre-HIPPA).
  • Developed a decision support system that allowed management to follow operations. The system was dashboard oriented with drill down capability and included dozens of reporting features.
  • Utilized UI/UX skills to develop and enhance call center software to support patient based therapeutic programs such as “Smoking Cessation” and “GERD”.

SENIOR CONSULTANT

Successfully utilized my computer networking and programming skills to support Fortune 100 clients in the development of critical operational systems.

  • Integrated RF bar code system with server-based data for a nationwide product recall system.
  • Integrated OS/2 server-based system with legacy mainframe to provide remote, real-time site-to-site data transfer providing synchronization between all processing and distribution facilities.
  • The initial 6-month pilot went into full production after only 6 weeks.

SUPERVISOR OF NETWORKING AND TECHNICAL SERVICES

Successfully administered the college’s Campus-Wide networking and Student Computer initiatives.

  • Managed $4 million campus-wide networking project.
  • Developed RFI/RFP/RFQ documents in support of the networking project.
  • Managed a team of system administration professionals to support students and faculty.
  • Created and maintained technical infrastructure documents for the networking system including over 1200 connection points, 30 buildings, 26 miles of fiber optic cables, and almost 100 wiring centers.
  • Built a central data networking center with rack-mounted servers, routers, bridges, and network multi-access points.  The center was designed to provided fault-tolerant access to all computer resources, 24/7/365 for over 2000 residential students and over 600 faculty and staff.
