Product Rendering: Beckham Perfume

A passion of mine has always been to do product renderings. This is something I have been passionate about for a few years. The interest has increased throughout the years but due to a busy schedule, it has been ignored for a while. With my new found urge to relearn some of the material regarding 3D design, I was being taught at earlier semesters, I once again threw my hands at drawing something which would pose me a bit of a challenge. In this case I was inspired by a Beckham branded perfume;

This perfume has quite fascinating finish with some "wavy ripples" protuding the surface - this made me wonder how one would draw this kind of model efficiently using a CAD tool. Choosing Fusion 360 as my weapon of choice the easiest solution I found is shown below;

Where I would draw a arc with fixed offset, then finally make a "loft cut" using Fusion 360's "Pipe" feature. This in combination with some tinkering around with the fillet feature;

Which is quite similar to the original, but of course not one to one. For those wanting to draw this themselves my most important piece of advice is to ensure that the "shelling" of the model (i.e. making it non-solid) is done before you start playing around with fillets to avoid problems in controlling the thickness of the walls. Finally I finished the head of the perfume and chose to leave out the modelling of the cover. Therefore CAD wise the final result was a such;

I was quite surprised by the Fusion 360 section tool which allows for saving specific sections while also showing the correct hatching and different colors for different parts.

Visual Render

As usual I don't want to end the projects without a breathtaking render. In this case I kept a quite simple backdrop with an applied enviroment lighting. The rendering is done in Blender 2.83 using Intels denoising in post-processing which really made the glass material stand out sharp. Maybe some day I will write a more detailed guide for how I set up renders, but the end result in this case was as in the cover;

I strayed a bit from the original colouring and had a hard time deciding which version I liked the most, so I chose to show both.
