Passion, Planning, Pursuit

We live for moments. The moments we feel fully alive and completely connected to ourselves. Those are important and we must take note of them. We must learn to intentionally plan out and pursue the passions that make us come alive. If we do not these passions will remain just that, a passion and will not become a fully realized dream. 

Passion 

If you haven't done it before take an afternoon, sit down and think about what makes you feel fully alive. Write those things down. They will encompass many different areas of your life. From your job, to your family, to your hobbies you will be amazed at how many things make you come alive. However not every passion is created equal. The passions you hold in greatest regard will come at the expense of lesser ones. Carefully choose which passions are most important to you.

Planning

Writing down your passions brings them into focus and allows you to shape those dreams into concrete goals and steps. Create goals and write down the steps it will take to achieve them. If you do not intentionally plan your life around your passions you will pursue many other avenues that leave you feeling unsatisfied with your life and your career. Do not waist your time on things that don't make you come alive. Time is the one thing we have been given that is our greatest currency, we must spend it wisely. 

You must also realize that sacrifice will be required in order achieve your goals and you must plan accordingly. There will be obstacles and distractions every single day battling for your time and attention. These are most effectively overcome by thinking through and planning how you will overcome them before you ever face them. Planning and preparation are the key to overcoming the obstacles you will face in the pursuit of your passions. 

Pursuit

The last step is to follow through on your plans. Create habits that fulfill your goals and passions. Be intentional every single day. Create mini plans and mini objectives that are in line with where you want to go. Learn to fight for the time your dreams deserve. There will be small steps at first but the sacrifice and time you invest is definitely worth it. 

And always remember this, the reason we pursue our passions is not because we want to get to the finish line. The reason we pursue our passions is because they make us come alive!
