A one-day training course suitable for all staff

Monday 24th February 2025, 9.30am - 4pm, £275 + VAT per person

Looking for an EDI course that will give you what you need to know but also help you to build more inclusive workplace practices? Our one-day Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity training workshop focuses on three key areas: awareness, language and culture. We aim to provide the awareness you need of equality and diversity topics (including the facts, figures and legal details) whilst focusing on respecting and interacting with people.

The course will also cover specific areas of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity, including disability awareness. We’ll delve into recent history of developing understanding to explore what we might learn for other characteristics, providing plenty of applicable and relevant actions that you can take back to work with you.

We live in a world where language changes quickly. During the second half of this training course, we will explore how language works, where some of our inclusive communications challenges come from and look at principles and guidance for the words we use to both support individuals and society, improving workplace and personal cultures.

Our one-day course explores the following topics…

What is Equality, Diversity and Inclusion?

Barriers to Inclusivity

Understanding and Respecting Individuals

Disability Awareness

Adjustments and Approaches to Disabilities

The Language We Use

Communicating with Impact

A one-day training course suitable for all staff

Tuesday 18th March 2025, 9.30am - 4pm, £275 + VAT per person

No matter who we are and what we do, communication is vital to both our work and daily lives. For some of us, communicating with our colleagues, friends and family comes easily and naturally, whilst others find it difficult to get our message across in an informative, authentic and, when appropriate, assertive way.

The course is perfect for those wishing to explore the features of effective communication, the different ways in which we communicate both within and outside of the workplace, and how we can become more inspiring and persuasive in our communication. In doing so, we will look at ways to manage emotions and conflict in communication, as well as review a range of techniques to help us be more assertive when interacting with others.

The day will be very interactive and driven by discussion, with all attendees expected to actively participate throughout the day. A range of activities, diagnostics and case studies will be used to stimulate ideas and provoke discussion, within an informal environment designed to foster natural conversation and positive assertiveness.

Our one-day course explores the following topics…

What makes for a good communicator

Mind your language

Learn to listen, stop to think

Managing your emotions

The power of “no”

Action planning and next steps

This course will equip you with the tools to communicate more effectively and with greater confidence, ensuring you can express your thoughts and feelings in a way that is both respectful and assertive.
