The Future is Video

The Future is Video

Parmy Olson in her Forbes article called “The Future Is Video: Kik Buys Rounds To Jump Into Video Chat Trend” describes the recent purchase of real-time video chat company Rounds. Nice article, which shows what is going on out there.

“A third of U.S. teens don’t hang out with their friends in real time, in the offline world after school,” says Fishel. “They hangout on the web, and they do it for hours.”

Getting up and leaving a video chat for 10 minutes to get a drink or to run an errand isn’t seen as awkward, he adds, as it might be for old users. “Once you’re in a group chat you can have people for hour or hour-and-a-half playing around, doing homework together.”

“Video chat has been getting increasingly popular with a younger generation of smartphone users…”

These are just a few quotes from the article, which only confirms my conviction that we will very soon have a new type of customer with different expectations and different needs on the market.

It makes me very enthusiastic as at Yameo we have been working on the technology and the possible use cases for real-time video conversation already quite a time, servicing customers like DEKRA and Raiffeisen Bank.

More and more global technology providers are looking at real-time video from the B2C perspective, with Vidyo launching their VidyoCloud and vidyo.io services recently.

I can’t wait to see serious business players incorporating real-time video conversation into their communication strategy. It looks like 20% of the fortune 500 are working on it right now and expect to have strategy implemented by end of 2018.

One thing is sure, we will be here to do what we do the best: Helping in designing, developing, integrating and implement real-time video conversation for businesses.
