A floor plan document embedded in the web

Without the elevation and the section view, a floor plan view provides a close relation on how to effectively do space planning.

A web enabled floor plan targets three types of customers in relation to the floor plan of a building.

  1. Customers who try to learn the layout of the building from the document
  2. Customers who try to solve a problem given the floor plan has been understood
  3. Customers who convert the information into any usable form so that they can deliver some value out of the document

If the floor plan document is prioritised for space planning, the web page containing it should ideally decrease the bounce rate to the web page and improve sales conversions. The reason behind this is that the buyer will decide what facilities the building provides in terms of its long term use and the cost required to refurbish the building. Once a business case behind space planning is clearly defined, the purpose gets matched with the goals and the market for which the building has been built becomes a prime concern. This market then attracts the right customers who get satisfied by having clearly laid out space planning considerations within the floor plan document.

Problem solving at an early stage has been found to be effective in businesses. The objective of such an embedded web enabled floor plan will be to drive sales and increase the buying behaviour in providing the buyer more options to use the building in a preferred fashion.
