BPM Employees – The Unsung Heroes of Covid Era

BPM Employees – The Unsung Heroes of Covid Era

**My 4th attempt to express myself

The year 2020 – an unprecedented time when the Earth stood still – altered the definition of loss, love, and life.

The crippling economy was accompanied by the chaos of death; a refraining goodbye in every word and a longing of hope in every eye, was an unspoken yet piercing bawl sent out to the universe. Something quite similar to the plotlines of Marvel and DC movies.

This helpless cry to ease the turmoil caused by COVID-19 astounded all of humanity as the world watched, not “The” Superman or the Avengers or Batman; but people of all spectrums coming together to help one another. From  donating money to swabbing ventilators, to our brave essential workers to vaccine trial participants, everyone played their part. The pandemic introduced us to many extraordinary heroes, not the ones who could fly, or bend steel or take down a whole alien army but even more!

Although limited with physical powers, our frontline workers including healthcare and sanitation workers, vegetable and grocery store vendors, chemists, police officers, vaccine trial participants, media houses and ordinary citizens showcased the true meaning of being a “Hero”

As the world continues to grapple with this catastrophic fallout of the pandemic, the real heroes of the BPM industry and Contact Centre staff are working tirelessly to entertain every single query to their customers, and  generate amplified operations. Information Technology teams are giving their best to ensure that the systems function unhindered with any cause, and data remains secure especially at a time when  over half of the world is working from the comfort of their homes. Not everyone was that lucky to get an opportunity to “Work from Home” and that leaves the backend support teams of Administration and IT with much more responsibility of managing the ends of Safety and security as well.

While on one hand we have one set of “Heroes” who have been overcoming the hurdles of Lockdown and reaching office to provide Calling Support for all essential services, On the other hand our housekeeping workers have been risking their lives to ensure and maintain clean and sanitized environment is provided to employees coming to office. The ever-vigilant security guards at office entrances have been patiently checking temperatures and carefully spraying sanitizers on every entrant for safety.

All of them have showcased a true meaning of being a “Superhero” and pushing up to new horizons each day. Many of them don’t even get an opportunity to tuck their children into bed at night because of their long, sometimes even 24-hour, shifts.

This is the story for most of the employees and organizations in ITES industry, I would personally like to thank each member of this fraternity and especially to my colleagues in “Eureka Outsourcing Solutions” who have ensured to rise above the disturbing times and kept a steady spin on the swing of normalcy.

To these brave and supportive heroes everywhere who don’t “Don a cape” but radiate hope and joy, a big “Thank you!”
