“Don’t provide too much value in your posts.” Advice I keep seeing from "thought leaders" And while I deeply admire many of them, I refuse to agree with this one. Holding back value means withholding insights that could genuinely help others. Why? Because deep down, you’re afraid you’ll run out of ideas. But here’s what I believe: If you’re truly present with yourself, you’ll never run out of ideas. Because the human experience (day to day, week to week, year to year) is endlessly varied. That’s the beauty of it. Withholding value isn’t smart strategy. It’s a trap. One that disconnects you from your audience. And from yourself. Authenticity is the one thing the best people have in common. And the last thing I’ll do is compromise that by holding back something that could be useful to someone else. I’ll always show up as directly, honestly, and helpfully as I can. And I think we all have a responsibility to do the same. So we don’t keep spreading advice that tells us not to share. On that note, Happy Friday!

This hits hard. The best ideas come while you're sharing, not when you're hoarding. Much love man!!

I couldn’t agree more! Always show up, and always give back, you never know what you’ll get in return down the line.

I agree to some extent, I think you can provide value by giving insights but I think if you're a coach or consultant then giving away all your value, methods and advice for free isn't the best strategy

I hear you Philip. And part of withholding value comes from a fear that someone else will copy/steal/repurpose it. That's always a possibility, I guess, but to not lead with value is a waste of everyone's time.

People who are exploring wouldn't run out of ideas, those fear just keeps us safe and doesn't help us deliver our full potential

I’m a massive believer of giving everything away in my content - the magic isn’t in the knowledge it’s in the implementation which only I can do.

Honestly, I don’t get why people say you should hold back value in your posts. If you have something helpful, share it.  Philip Wylonis

Sharing freely isn’t a weakness — it’s connection. Real value builds real trust. Thanks for saying it out loud Philip
