A relation too close for comfort, that's the model consistently used by a "close" ally. So in a nutshell, if you take all conflicts around the world out of the picture entirely let me respectfully suggest that the system around you may still be rigged internally because values/freedoms that once have been taken for granted have multiple redlines; some obvious some not so obvious. My thinking is simplistic; cut out all foreign meddling/influence and eliminate all lobbying organisations supporting any country or region so that a) matters of foreign policy (even including internal laws) are entirely based on merits and b) values/freedoms serve as the real redline that cannot be crossed. Now is this asking much?

It seems to me that when reading President Dwight Eisenhower's warned about the Military Industrial Complex in his famous speech he may have well been talking about America's "closest" ally; maybe even too close - at every level - for comfort. https://lnkd.in/gX4QbCZG

Blog 38 established the EU Mediator Vacuum — Europe’s inability to function as an independent mediator because it has no enforcement mechanism that operates outside Washington’s architecture. Blog 39 examines the military dimension of the same structural problem: Washington fought a hierarchical war against a distributed adversary, and the instruments did not match the target. The IRGC Mosaic Reckoning is the explanation for why killing Iran’s supreme leader, its top generals, and most of its senior command did not end the war — and why the ceasefire violations, the continued strikes, and the Islamabad talks’ collapse were architectural consequences, not acts of defiance.

International support for democratic institutions, civil society, and independent media has been associated with modest but meaningful improvements in democratic governance, and it is far less costly than the military outlays necessitated by rising authoritarian aggression. Since the alleged and repeated "excursion" (the hobby president might have meant incursion, is over - although three USN carriers, thousands of USMC and 82 Airborne troops are being deployed for touristic reasons, while 16 American bases in eight countries have been wiped out by an elusive "enemy", a military blockade going is on in the Strait - except for Russian oligarch luxury cruisers to please Moscow and its satellites directing Iranian firepower - and the world is trying to cope with the largest energy loss ever, derailing world economy, jobs and prosperity, why not hail his latest disaster and raise the White flag of "victory"?
☝️ Under the #USA Constitution, Article I, Section 8 Congress alone has the power to declare war. The president can command the #military, but he can’t unilaterally decide to start a war. Here, Trump claims it's "totally unconstitutional" to seek authorization from Congress for war. The exact opposite from actual uS #Law But does it matter? 📚 Note Congress hasn't declared a war since WW2. After 1945, US shifted heavily toward undeclared wars. Korea, Vietnam, Gulf, Afghanistan and Iraq - none of these major wars in #history were ever officially declared wars. 💡 Modern conflicts became limited wars, UN interventions, counterterr0rism campaigns, or just “operations” But we call them Wars anyway, because that's what they are in every way except the lingo of US officials. ⚖️ So does the US Constitution still matter? In theory, US Congress alone holds the power to declare war. But in practice, it's the US President who can wage war in all but name. He'll just have to call it a Special Military Operation instead.
