Training tells people what to do. Learning science explains why they don’t do it. One of our clients discovered something surprising: Their team wasn’t ignoring training… they simply couldn’t recall it in real-time. That’s the power of learning science. It shows us that people remember what’s emotionally charged, contextually familiar, or frequently reinforced. We redesigned their training using: - scenario-based recall - spaced reinforcement - in-flow-of-work prompts The result? A measurable improvement in judgment- not just knowledge. #LearningScience #LearningTransformation #CorporateLearning #MakeLearningHappen

Inquiry-based learning works because it respects one simple truth: "Learning starts with questions, not answers." When students are encouraged to ask why, how, and what if, they stop being passive receivers and start becoming active thinkers. This approach: • values curiosity over compliance 🔍 • treats mistakes as data, not failure 🔄 • builds reasoning, not rote memory 🧠 • helps learners connect concepts instead of memorising fragments 🔗 The goal isn’t to rush to the correct answer. It’s to understand the path that leads there. When classrooms shift from delivery to discovery, students don’t just learn more. They learn better. #InquiryBasedLearning #StudentCenteredLearning #ThinkingSkills #DeeperLearning #EducationReimagined

In a world drowning in distractions, learning isn’t a content problem…… it’s an attention problem. Attentionmaxing = training your attention like a muscle. Intentionally improving your attention across multiple dimensions. deeper focus faster learning stronger memory higher cognitive performance Attentionmaxing upgrades intelligence. I’ll be writing more on this. #Attentionmaxing #learning

Research consistently shows that: 👉 Learning one aligned skill deeply beats learning five skills shallowly. 👉 Application matters more than certificates. 👉 Consistency beats motivation every time. That’s why random learning feels exhausting, and intentional learning feels empowering. As the year ends, remember: You don’t need more information. You need better focus. #DidYouKnow #Techavilly #Facts #LearningSmarter #CareerGrowth

🚨 Most people study harder when they should be studying smarter. Here’s the Pyramid of Learning explained in 30 seconds. We don’t remember most of what we read. Not because we’re lazy… …but because our brain isn’t designed for passive learning. Enter the Pyramid of Learning a simple model that shows which learning methods actually stick. 📘 10% — Reading Good for exposure, terrible for retention. 🎧 20% — Listening Better than reading, but still passive. 👀 30% — Visuals Images, diagrams, demos boost memory. 🔄 50% — Discussion Talking forces you to process what you know. 🧩 75% — Practice by Doing The moment you try, your brain wakes up. 🧠 90% — Teaching Others The ultimate hack. If you can teach it, you truly understand it. So the real question is: Are you consuming information… or transforming it? #LearningAndDevelopment #PersonalGrowth #PyramidOfLearning #StudySmarter #Education #ContinuousLearning #LearningStrategy #ProfessionalDevelopment #Upskilling #KnowledgeSharing

I often see learning framed as content delivery—what students should know next. But capability is built differently. Hands-on creation, effort over time, and environments that invite iteration don’t just support learning—they shape how learners think about themselves. That’s where confidence and real problem-solving capacity come from. This work from the Ascension Learning, Inc. team captures that shift clearly in our blueprint for the modern learner. If you’re rethinking how learning should develop in today’s world, it’s worth exploring. Follow the link in the comments for the full article
Did you know learning environments shape capability, not just knowledge? Hands-on creation strengthens spatial reasoning. Growth mindset literally reshapes the brain through effort and iteration. These aren’t trends, they’re research-backed signals of how modern learning actually works. Our Blueprint for the Modern Learner connects curiosity, making, growth mindset, and digital fluency into a cohesive framework for building confident, capable problem-solvers. If we want future-ready learners, we have to design for how learning develops, not just what’s delivered. Most people think better learning comes from more information. But science says otherwise. The spacing effect, for example, has shown that people learn and retain far more when information is revisited over time, not crammed into a single session. As facilitators this matters when clients want real behavior change, we need evidence-based structure that matches how the brain actually works. When we design applied improv workshops or team development sessions, spacing principles guide the plan: -Short bursts of learning, revisited with intention -Practical repetition without redundancy -Opportunities to recall, not just receive -Tools teams can use immediately and again later The result? Higher retention, better transfer to real work, and teams who actually remember what they learned and use it. In a world full of training trends, science is the differentiator. #science #appliedimprov #corpdevstrategies #collaboration #retention https://lnkd.in/eRTv9vu8

One small optimisation change taught me a big lesson. The model was training. The loss was changing. But the learning felt… off. So I started experimenting. • Lowered the learning rate → training became smoother • Changed the optimizer → behaviour changed completely • Watched loss curves instead of just accuracy • Realised stability matters more than speed Same model. Better understanding. That’s when I realised: Optimisation isn’t a setting you choose once, it’s something you observe and adjust. #DeepLearning #MachineLearning
