VFX Callsheet is now live on LinkedIn. We’re building a platform focused on production intelligence for the visual effects industry, bringing together project tracking, vendor discovery, freelancers, tax incentives, and bidding workflows in one place. The goal is simple: help producers, supervisors, and vendors navigate the VFX ecosystem with greater clarity and efficiency. The platform is still evolving, and we’re looking forward to connecting with producers, vendors, and artists across the industry as it develops. More updates to come soon.

Over the years working as a VFX producer, I’ve experienced how fragmented production information can be. Projects in development, vendor strengths, freelancers, tax incentives, and bidding workflows are often spread across multiple sources. Those time-consuming searches for reliable information led me to start building VFX Callsheet, a platform focused on production intelligence for the visual effects industry. The goal is to help the VFX community: producers, supervisors, freelancers, and vendors, navigate our ecosystem more efficiently by bringing key information together in one place. It’s still early and evolving, but I’m excited to start sharing it and connecting with others across the industry as it develops. https://lnkd.in/eRgj_Rxr

Most video editors cap their income because they only focus on the software. 📉 But timeline speed will not scale an agency. Here is the exact tech stack I use to manage operations for high-level clients: 🧠 Gemini & Claude For deep research and funnel-specific scripting. We build the strategy before we ever touch the footage. 📋 Notion Every project and deadline lives here. Complete clarity so nothing slips through the cracks. 🎬 Premiere Pro & After Effects The core engine. This is where we handle the heavy lifting for high-quality animation and production. 🔄 Frame.io Clients leave frame-accurate notes directly on the video link. Zero back-and-forth confusion. The right tools do not automatically make you a better editor. They buy back your time so you can focus on the creative strategy that actually drives results.

Creative teams aren’t in one place anymore, but many workflows still are. Editors, freelancers, reviewers… all working across locations. Yet a lot of setups still assume everyone’s under one roof. That’s where things break. In this Broadcast2Post Key Considerations clip, Michael Kammes breaks down how modern creative teams can work together across locations without sacrificing speed, quality, or control. 🎥 Watch now: https://hubs.ly/Q049C_jP0 #Broadcast2Post #LiveStreaming #StudioDesign #AVTechnology #KeyCodeMedia

Post-production is often a race against time, but for the team at Jack Nimble, file management was winning. With 7 people juggling 20+ projects, editors were losing up to an hour a day just moving media and relinking proxies. By switching to @LucidLink, they transformed their workflow: ✅ Zero Downloads: Files behave like local storage, even in a hybrid setup. ✅ Seamless Collaboration: Editors, motion designers, and VFX artists work on the same project simultaneously. ✅ Cleaner Projects: One single source of truth means no more version confusion. The result? Less "managing files" and more "creative freedom." #PostProduction #VideoEditing #CloudCollaboration #CreativeWorkflow #LucidLink

I spent 20 years in the VFX trenches. Here is the biggest lie I was told: "If you're good at your craft, the work will find you." I believed that lie for a decade. I worked on projects for Disney, Sony, and Samsung. I helped grow a studio to 500+ people. My technical skills were top-tier, but as a freelancer, I was still stuck in the "Starving Artist" cycle. I was a master of my craft, but a disaster at the business. I was a "Hired Hand"—someone clients call for a pair of hands, not for their brain. When you're a hired hand, you're a commodity. And commodities are always replaced by someone cheaper. I realized that Competence is only one cylinder in the engine. To be truly free, you need the other six. Today, I’m launching the blueprint to fix that: "The Client Magnet Method for Creative Freelancers." This isn't a book about how to draw or animate better. It's about how to build a 7-Cylinder Engine that turns your creative talent into a magnetic business. Inside, I break down: ✅ Why your portfolio is actually scaring away high-value clients. ✅ How to establish a "State of Trust" before you even quote a price. ✅ The "Interconnected Hive" strategy for effortless networking. ✅ Moving from a "Cost" to an "Investment" in your client's eyes. THE REVOLUTIONARY LAUNCH DEAL: To get this into the hands of as many makers as possible, the Kindle version is live on Amazon right now for just $0.99 (for the next 48 hours only). If you are tired of the "Feast or Famine" cycle and want to start being treated like the professional you are, this is your roadmap. Stop chasing. Be found. Why I’ve Been Using DaVinci Resolve for My Video Edits Over the past few months, I’ve been spending more time editing on DaVinci Resolve, and honestly, it’s been a great experience. What I like most is how powerful it is for both editing and color grading in the same workflow. Instead of jumping between different tools, everything from cutting clips to refining colors and exporting the final video can be done in one place. A few things that stand out for me: • Industry-level color grading tools that make footage look cinematic • Smooth editing timeline for faster cuts and transitions • Built-in audio tools that help improve sound quality • Powerful free version that still offers professional features As someone who enjoys the creative side of post-production, tools like this make the process more efficient and more fun. Still learning new techniques every day, but it’s exciting to see how much you can improve with the right tools and consistent practice. If you’re a video editor or filmmaker, what editing software do you prefer? #VideoEditing #DaVinciResolve #PostProduction #Filmmaking #ContentCreation
