User research doesn’t fail because of lack of data. It fails because of lack of clarity. After interviews or usability tests, designers often sit with: – Notes – Quotes – Observations Everything feels important. But nothing connects. This is where Affinity Mapping changes everything. It helps you: → Group insights → Identify patterns → Spot real user problems → Prioritise what matters Because good UX decisions don’t come from assumptions. They come from structured thinking. If your research feels overwhelming, you don’t need more data. You need better synthesis. Save this for your next UX project. Research alone is not enough. You can talk to users, collect data, and track behavior… but if you don’t turn that into clear direction, it’s just noise. That’s where strategy comes in. So continuing the series: Day 4: Discovery & Strategy Methods (Define “What to build”) These methods help you organize insights, understand users deeply, and make better product decisions. In this post, I covered: - Persona Creation - Journey Mapping - Competitive Analysis - Affinity Mapping - Empathy Mapping Because great products are not built on random ideas. They are built on clear understanding and structured thinking. This is where research becomes strategy. . . . That’s a wrap on UX Research Methods series 👀 . . #UXResearch #UXStrategy #UIUX #UXDesign #ProductDesign #UserExperience #DesignThinking #UXCommunity #UXLearning #ProductThinking #UXSeries

“What do users want?” It sounds like the right question. It’s not. Users don’t think in features. They don’t articulate clear solutions. And they rarely know what’s actually possible. So when we ask “what do users want?” we often get opinions, not insight. The better question is: What are they trying to achieve, and what’s in their way? That’s where real design starts. Because good UX isn’t about giving people what they say. It’s about understanding: • their intent • their constraints • their context And then making better decisions than they could describe. Users don’t need to design the solution. That’s your job. #UXDesign #ProductDesign #DesignThinking #UserExperience #UXStrategy #ProductThinking #DigitalProducts

When did a user research outcome change your mind about a design? I was working on a screen where we had the option to either show a data table, or a graphical chart of the data. Assuming that users always prefer a visual over tabular information, we defaulted to the chart for the usability test, and made sure to ask participants what they thought. What we discovered surprised us – users preferred the table! Keep in mind, this was a for a specific use-case where seeing the data quickly in a table was preferred over seeing a performance-over-time line graph chart. But it goes to show, you can follow what seem like design best practices and still be wrong for the specific use case you need to solve! What are some user research outcomes that surprised you? Let me know in the comments! #UserExperienceDesign #ProductDesign #UXD #UXResearch

🚨 Designing blind? The key to truly understanding your users. Have you ever wondered why your users abandon their carts right before hitting "buy"? 🛒🤔 Sometimes we get obsessed with the numbers (the WHAT), but we forget to dive deep into the human reasons (the WHY). In UX Research, knowing when to use qualitative vs. quantitative research is the difference between making a guess and finding a real solution. In this short video, Mayra Morgan, PhD breaks it down clearly: 🔹 Qualitative: The "why" and the context behind every action. 🔹 Quantitative: The "how many" and the frequency of behaviors. If you want to stop guessing and start designing with solid data, you need to watch this! 👇 Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/e48aBXZH #UXResearch #StrategicDesign #UserExperience #DigitalMarketing #UXUI #DataDrivenDesign #Stargety

Why do users abandon forms? It’s rarely just about the number of questions. It’s about the cognitive load. When a user is greeted by 15 open fields at once, it feels like paperwork. When they see one clear, thoughtful question at a time, it feels like a conversation. Spiceform focuses on reducing that initial friction. With a conversational, one-question-at-a-time interface, we help users stay focused on the answer rather than the effort of finishing the form. Better UX isn't just a design choice - it's a conversion strategy. #Spiceform #UXDesign #ConversionRate #DataCollection

Welcome to a new week 👋 Why do users drop off? This is something I’ve seen a lot. And the truth is sometimes, UX alone doesn’t fix it. Especially in products like healthcare, where trust matters just as much as usability. Users don’t just want a “smooth experience.” They want to feel safe. They want to know: – Is my data secure? – Can I trust this platform? – Why are you asking for this information? If that trust isn’t clear from the start, they leave. But it doesn’t stop there. You also have to understand your audience and communicate in a way that actually helps them. Not industry jargon. Not assumptions. Just clarity. Drop-offs often happen when: • You ask for too much information too soon • There are too many steps before users see value • Your messaging doesn’t match what users need or expect Good UX reduces friction. But great products build trust and communicate clearly. If users don’t understand you, they won’t stay. If they don’t trust you, they won’t return. #UXDesign #UserExperience #ProductDesign #UXResearch #DesignThinking #UserRetention #CustomerExperience #ProductStrategy #UXTips #DesignMatters #HealthcareUX #DigitalHealth #TrustInDesign #UserCentric #StartupDesign

In UX, asking the right questions is half the battle. Asking the right question means understanding your own motives when asking. Are you doing this to gain information, explore options, and develop new ideas? If not, rethink how you are asking the question. And never ask a question just so you can answer it. This is passive aggressive, and just makes you look like a jerk." https://www.https://https://lnkd.in/ey9bSqTa #UXDesign #AskingQuestions #UserExperience #CommunicationSkills #CriticalThinking #LinkedIn #JasonSpeaking

The human brain is lazy by design. It constantly tries to save energy and avoid effort. That’s why users don’t “learn” your product they either get it instantly or leave. In UX, the goal isn’t to make users think. It’s to make things feel obvious. Reduce cognitive load → Increase retention. #uxdesign #userexperience #psychology #productdesign #uidesign

Why does a user click "Complete Profile" at 2 AM? 🌙 It’s not just "good design." It’s the Zeigarnik Effect. The human brain is hardwired to close open loops. When we see a progress bar or an unfinished task, we experience a micro-release of dopamine upon completion. In UX, we call this "Positive Friction." At Aufait UX,we move minds. We audit rigid products to find three key triggers: ✅ Open Loops: Using micro-completions to drive retention ✅ Ambient Proof: Moving beyond static testimonials to create a "live" environment ✅ Authority Signals: Using precise data and confident UI to earn trust in milliseconds. The impact? Feeling drives conversion. If your product feels "off," your sign-ups will drop. 📩 DM "UX" today for a professional flow audit. #PsychologyInDesign #GrowthHacking #UXStrategy #AufaitUX #FintechUX #SaaSDesign
