A few weeks ago, I made a decision. It’s not a big deal as we make around 35k decisions a day. I wasn’t sure about sharing it here since I don’t usually use LinkedIn to talk about my life. But I realized it’s relevant because I’ve met tons of people and most of them are here. After 14 years, 1 month, and 17 days, I decided that my time at Lifull Connect has come to an end and it has been an incredible journey. We built an aggregator from scratch, developed duplicate detection systems, dynamic link building, and all user and revenue metrics. (thanks Pablo Mulas Gómez, Leonardo Benítez Núñez, Daniel Marcos, Sergio Velasco Hernández, Jaime Llorente Solana, Felix Ramos Ruiz, Victoria Pasichnyk) I had the privilege of learning from people who understood product management before the first book on product was even written. Eternal thanks to those who helped me discover what I wanted to become. (thanks Marcelo Badimón Reverter, Javier Heras Colás, Gonzalo Del Pozo) From acquiring companies and flying to London for the first of many migrations to launching a real estate portal over a summer that took me to places like the Philippines. (thanks Unai Bastida, Andy Walden, Jeff Torre) I’ve seen the rise (and fall into oblivion) of key projects like Google AMP, the company going public in Australia, catching up with our main competitor after 10 years, merging with them, and moving into their office. (thanks David Frigerio, Miguel Galera, Miguel Tamayo, Mauricio Silber, Juan Ramón Díaz, Eric Teruel, Andrea García García, Fernando Alou, Cristina del Canto, Hernan Javier Castagnola) We grow up 3 new brand Product Managers from scratch and stopped slipping for 3 months (thanks Rubén Bote García, Gastón Valle, Aniol Carreras) We built connections with over 100 CRMs and countless Thai XMLs spending endless hours on calls with CRM owners, and set up a global support team across Thailand, Mexico, and half the world. (thanks Marc Sturlese, Manel Ibáñez, Mercedes Trives, Daniel Schaufler, Stéphanie M.) We helped create a real-time search system that transformed all our brands. (thanks Jordi Pradel, Ferran Galí i Reniu, Isart Montane, Javier Sangrador) We put Machine Learning into a production search engine and make money with it. We raised CPC above 3 cents. (thanks Mikel Recondo Lago, Edu Mateu, Cassiano Pelloso Lima) We pushed C/V to levels I hadn’t seen in 13 years. (thanks Javier Valeiro Rodriguez, Aitor Alzola, Luis Artola, Shoin Wolfe) I learned how to buy traffic (and how to make Albert Mas de Xaxars Giner hate me for it and thanks to Jacobo Andreu for the extra mile). We did forecasting with the incredible Juan Uribarri Gómez-Morán, CAIA and so much more. To everyone who has been part of this journey, those mentioned and those not, thank you. Enjoy what you do.
