Trump Is Losing the Great Power Game – and Europe Is Winning Trump is trying to play geopolitical chess. But he’s playing it like poker – and the bluff is being called. His plan is obvious: Split Russia and China. Pressure Europe into compliance. Isolate China as the main threat. And somehow win Putin's loyalty. The result? Total failure. China and Russia are closer than ever. Europe – pushed by tariffs and hostile rhetoric from Washington – has responded with strength, not submission. We’re seeing increased strategic cooperation, renewed defense investments, and clear resolve in the face of hybrid threats. And while Trump shouts “America First,” the U.S. is standing alone. It’s not the first time a global power has underestimated its allies and overestimated its control. But rarely has it been done so openly – and so catastrophically poorly.
