National Black MBA Association’s Post

From a visionary student to a lifelong educator and trailblazer — Dr. Alexander L. Gabbin’s legacy is woven into the very fabric of the National Black MBA Association®. As a co-founder and “Legacy Leader”, Dr. Gabbin helped organize the Association’s first conference in 1969 at the University of Chicago — a bold move to amplify the voices of Black MBAs pursuing excellence in business, education, and leadership. Today, Dr. Gabbin continues to inspire as the KPMG Professor and Director of the School of Accounting at James Madison University, where he serves as the school’s first Black director. His career stands as a testament to courage, scholarship, and purpose. As we honor Black History Month, we celebrate Dr. Gabbin’s extraordinary journey — from Howard University to the classroom, boardroom, and beyond — shaping leaders for generations to come. #BlackHistoryMonth #NBMBAA #LeadershipAndLegacy #EducationMatters #BlackExcellence #Trailblazer #HBCUPride #BusinessLeadership #JamesMadisonUniversity #UniversityofChicago #LegacyLeader
